Alice's POV

The telephone blared in my ear, and I shot up from the couch. I looked at Spencer, who was still asleep thankfully.

I quickly grabbed the phone without bothering to check the Caller ID. "What" I hissed, as I exited the living room. The last thing I want to do is wake Spencer up.

"Oh Alice, thank God you answered" Blake's voice said, and my heart started to beat faster.

"What do you want Blake?"

"I've kinda got myself into a situation."

"Blake Warren, what do you want from me?"

"My car broke down."

"Call Amanda, I'm busy."

"Amanda and I aren't really speaking right now."

I sighed. "Where are you?"

"Um, well, I'm not sure how to say this..."

"I'm tired of listening to you babble Blake. Where the hell are you?" I grabbed my keys.

"Just walk outside."

I rolled my eyes. "Great directions."

"Just walk outside, and tell me the street you're on so I can give you directions."

I sighed and walked outside, where Blake was standing, holding his cell phone in one hand and a bouquet of pink roses in the other.

I gasp escaped my lips as I realized my surroundings, and I dropped my phone and keys.

Rose petals covered the floor, and heart-shaped balloons surrounded him.

"What is this" I asked, once I found my voice. It was absolutely beautiful.

"Alice Montgomery, will you please give me another chance?"

Blake's POV

I stopped by the store, and Sally called out to me with a smile.

"Hey Blake, what can I get you?"

"I need something that will convince a girl to give me another chance."

She rolled her eyes. "You don't need Amanda. You could do so much better."

I felt my chest tighten. "This isn't for Amanda."

Her eyebrows shot up. "Really? This is for another girl? Oh Blake, I'm so proud of you! Okay, let me think. What does this girl like?"

"Pink roses, walking in the sunset, writing poetry, going to the beach, making cookies-"

She held up her hand. "Okay sweetie, things that will help me set up a romantic scene. The pink roses and the sunset were good. But then you went off on a tangent."

"She likes pink roses, the sunset, she loves tacky heart balloons. I'd get them for her every anniversary."

"That's fantastic" she said, pulling out her sketch pad. She began to sketch out the scene and I waited, drumming my fingers on the counter.

"Here" she said, showing me her picture.

My heart soared. The picture she depicted was perfect. "Sally, I love you."

She laughed. "Come on, let's get what you need." She hurried around the store, throwing stuff in my basket that corrolated with her picture.

"Budget" she asked, stopping at the balloon section.

"There is none. Just get me what's needed."

I went up to the front of the store and grabbed a coke. I snacked on chips while I waited for Sally to finish.

As she rang me up, I handed her my credit card. "Don't tell me the price, because I'm pretty sure I don't want to know. Just swipe my card. You still know the pin right?"

She ran my card through and typed in the necesssary information. "Alright sweetie, just sign here and you're good to go."

I scribbled my signature at the bottom of the receipt.

She handed me her picture as she loaded up my car. "Exactly like this Blake. I wrote step-by-step directions on the back."

"Thanks for everything."

"You better call me and tell me exactly how it goes."

"I will." I gave her a hug and rushed out. I checked the sky, I only had a short amount of time before sunset.

I pulled up to her house and pulled out Sally's directions. I quickly set up the scene, gratefully for the weights for the balloons. I pulled out my cell phone and called her, rehearsing the lines in my head.

"What" she whispered. Venom stained her voice. That wasn't a good sign.

"Oh Alice, thank God you answered" I said, pouring it on thick.

"What do you want Blake?"

"I've kinda got myself into a situation."

"Blake Warren, what do you want from me?"

"My car broke down."

"Call Amanda, I'm busy."

I felt a pang in my heart. Even though life would be better off without Amanda, she was always my best friend, through thick and thin. "Amanda and I aren't really speaking right now."

She groaned. I could sense her frustration through the phone, but she wasn't going to leave me stuck. "Where are you?"

"Um, well, I'm not sure how to say this..." The one flaw in my plan. I didn't have a place to be broken down at.

"I'm tired of listening to you babble Blake. Where the hell are you?"

"Just walk outside."

"Great directions."

I smiled. I love her sarcasm. "Just walk outside, and tell me the street you're on so I can give you directions."

I heard the door click and I lowered my phone as she walked out. She was in sweats and a tank top, but she still looked amazing to me. I put on my best smile, and she gasped, dropping her phone and keys.

"Alice Montgomery, will you please give me another chance?"
