"Wake up Annabeth, it's your turn to guard the camp." Annabeth opened her eyes to see Will looking at her through the opening of her and Percy's tent.

She yawned. "Okay"

Will crawled into Nico's tent. After carefully moving out of the tent, trying not to wake Percy, Annabeth put on her invisibility cap and sat by the fire. That was her new trick. Monsters seeing no one guarding the camp, thinking "time for a tasty snack" and then BAM knife through their hart.

It had been 8 years since the Giant war. She and Percy had finished College 3 years ago. (idk how long you're in college) Annabeth had graduated cum laude in architecture and Percy had... graduated in marine biology.

Although they both had found jobs, the last 10 months, they had been going to camp and on quests a lot. Reason? New monsters were being born. Not coming out of Tartarus after 5 years, no, these were new monsters they had never heard of.

They weren't that dangerous, but somebody needed to kill them slash gain information. That's why camp kept asking the pros to do the job. Annabeth and Percy had first teamed up with Nico and Will when they were chasing an Acrosome. (it wasn't called that when they were chasing it, but the one to kill it could choose the name, that was their agreement) The Aphrodite cabin's 2 favourite couples had made an excellent combo, and since then, they had finished several missions "cum laude".

But today, Annabeth couldn't keep her mind focused on guarding the camp. She had taken some painkillers for the back ache she had had for the last few months. Sleeping in tents and following monsters around really wasn't good for your back. The drugs must have made her sleepy. Still, that had never stopped her before. She knew how to stay awake.

"ANNABETH !!" Percy shouted. She bolted awake. Oh no, had there been a monster attack? Had she really fallen asleep?

"Percy?!" she hurriedly took her cap of.

"Thank the gods you're okay" He said, sounding very relieved.

She looked around. It was already morning. No monsters. She had been lucky.

But she had fallen asleep... Everybody could have died because of her fault... She could have woken up to see her friends murdered...

"I'm so sorry, I fell asleep, I'm so, so sorry!" She had tears in her eyes of shame.

"It's okay Annabeth. You almost gave me a heart attack, but it's okay. I fall asleep sometimes too."

"Really? You shouldn't do that Percy. That's irresponsible" Her need to crawl in a hole and cry was gone.

"That's how I know my girl" Percy said with his trademark grin plastered on his face.

Will and Nico were setting up breakfast on a picnic blanket. That was their tradition.

"Breakfast, most important meal of the day" was one of Will's favourite sayings. It was also a reason to get Nico out of bed before noon.

"Want a sandwich?" Will offered her a sandwich with chocolate spread.

"Is it Nutella?" Annabeth asked.

"Of course it is"

Percy sighed. "She can't stand the smell of nuts... It's nuts"

Instead of laughing at Percy's very lame joke, Nico was looking at Annabeth with big eyes.

"What?" She asked

"YOU DON'T LIKE NUTELLA?! HOW CAN YOU NOT LIKE NUTELLA?!"

"Um sorry...?"

Percy put some honey on a sandwich for her.
