Chapter One
"HAIS" I said and I just dropped myself on a single sofa in my apartment. I'm very tired. I haven't had my lunch because there are tons of work to do.
"What should be my dinner? I'm sick and tired of sardines. Oh I know! I'll eat tuna this time." I said and went to the kitchen and looked at my cupboards if I have still some stocks. "Good thing there are still some! Which one? The Kaldereta or Mechado? Hmmm..." then I think. "I know! I'll cook rice first then I'll think about it." I decided that and immediately cook the rice first. Of course I should do that first since I don't want to take my meal as snacks.
Dorothy Tiganan. Dory for short. Twenty-six years old soon. Single and workaholic. I've been living on my own. Single and independent. Work and home only. Single
Wait. It looks like one description is mentioned a lot.
Yeah I'll repeat it again.
Single.
That's my status and I don't have any plans of changing that.
Why? Nothing. I just want to.
The phone rings.
"Hello?" I answered lazily.
"Hello Doryyyy. This is your one and only and one bestfriend. Guess who?" the other person happily asked.
"Haller. One and only and one bestfriend. Then there's guess who, guess who?" I irritatingly told her.
She laughed. "Right! It's me! Your one and only and one bestfriend Agnes! Miss me?"
"No." I flatly said.
"Ouch." she sounded hurt. I smiled. It's really a happiness in my life to tease her.
"I miss you too, Agnes. Why did you call?"
"I have some very very very good news for you!" she sounds so ecstatic.
"What?"
"Secret. Just come here tomorrow. Eat dinner here instead of choosing what flavored canned tuna you'll eat." I chuckle. She really knows what I will eat.
"Okay. Okay. I'll see you tomorrow. Bye Agnes. I miss you." I am smiling even though she can't see me.
"Okie Dory. Bye. Miss you too." she ended the call.
What might be that very very very good news to me and she sounds so happy and she really have to use three very? I just ignored it and went to the kitchen. I decided to eat the Afritada flavor. I ate my dinner. Did a quick shower then sleep.
