Needless to say the waffles were wonderful. The rest of the day I hung out in my room with a few of the guys. One of them brought a Cards Against Humanity game set and that was pretty wild. Everyone left pretty late, Evan and Delirious were the last ones to go, and apparently they were sharing a room, I tried not to let my mind wonder. But I had to say, they would be cute together.
I shook my head and stood up after they left so I could put my hair up in a ponytail. Right as I tightened it at the top of my head someone knocked on my door. I thought about ignoring it but I decided against it because they would probably never go away, so I opened the door to find Tyler standing there.
I gave him a weird look, "Hey."
"Hi," he said, "This may be weird, but do you wanna come play pool with me? There's an arcade and you kind of still owe me a rematch."
I looked at him for a bit more and then a smile crept up onto my face, "Yeah, let's do it." He lead the way and I followed him. "You know you're not going to win."
"That's bullshit," he said, "You know you have no skill. It's just luck."
"But I still win every time," I laughed.
"We'll see."
I grinned and followed him the rest of the way to the arcade place that looked like it was meant for kids. Who knows? Maybe it was, but at this time in the night it was basically deserted, except for a little video camera that followed us around as we came up on one of the pool tables.
"I brought a ton of quarters," Ty said, "We can go all night if we have to."
I smiled and picked up a pool stick, knowing there was no way he was going to be happy with the results. There wasn't any chalk on the table so I looked around for it while Ty got the balls setup. I found it on the floor down by one of the legs of the table. I grabbed it and chalked up my cue while Tyler lined up so he could break.
"Don't mess up," I teased.
He lost his composure and looked at me with a open mouth smile, "Shut the hell up."
"Aww," I cooed.
He hushed me in between laughs. "Fuck." He stood up straight. "You're jinxing me, damnnit. You break it."
I laughed at his frustration and leaned over the table to break it, and successfully might I add. He let out a frustrated groan and tried to find the best shot.
"I swear you cheat."
"Nope," I said, "It's just skill."
"It's not skill!"
"Okay, okay," I giggled, "It's luck."
"Mhm," he hummed and finally took his shot, hitting one of the striped balls in, "There."
I gestured for him to keep going because it was his shot again and he missed the next one. I stuck my tongue out at him and laughed, He'd unknowingly lined up my next shot perfectly.
I aimed and got in it, even though I honestly didn't think I would. I prepared the next one and took it, the 3 ball went into the pocket. I missed the next one.
The game went on like that for a while until it came down to the 8 ball for both of us. I missed when I shot it so Tyler took a deep breath and carefully shot the 8 ball in... but then the cue ball went in right after it.
"This is bullshit!" Tyler shouted with exasperation clear in his voice, "How do you always win?"
"Shh," I hushed him, "People are sleeping."
"I don't care. That was so retarded, we're going again."
I shrugged, "I think you're just a sore loser."
He let out another groan followed by a frustrated laugh, "You're a terrible player."
I took a step closer to him and put my finger in his chest playfully, "You always say that when someone beats you."
He crossed his arms over his chest and huffed, "Because it's true."
"Uh, uh. Not true."
He gave me an unamused look, "It's so true. Now please, put these damn quarters in the thing so we can go again."
I smiled and shook my head at him.
I won the rest of the games we played that night.
