"Wake up sleepyheads! We're back!" Mom said happily to Trevor and I.
I was on my queen sized bed while Trev was on the couch.
Don't get me wrong. He is my best friend and all, but he is so clumsy in his sleep. If I unfortunately sleep with him sometime, I wake up with a muscle pull or something.
"Mom! Why are you home so early?" I groaned into my pillow.
"Yes, Mrs R. I bet that it's just six in the morning." Trevor whined.
"Well, I'm sorry to disappoint you Mr Grey ( Trevor ), but it's eleven in the morning." Mom chirped happily.
"What?" Trev and I exclaimed with horror, making Trev fall off the couch.
"Owww!" He yelped, rubbing his head.
"Well, that's for sleeping till late in my house." My mom gave him a smirk and walked away.
After doing my morning routine, I was waiting for Trev, watching reruns of Pretty Little Liars.
Trev had gone home to take a bath and stuff.
A familiar horn honked outside my house. Trev!
I grabbed my bag and converse and put them on while rushing to the door.
I tried to do the laces while hopping outside.
"Remember our mission, right?" Trev asked with a devilish grin on his face.
"Hell yeah!" I replied in the same tone as his.
Trev got the car into gear and I instantly knew that we weren't going to the racetrack.
It was aftetnoon for God's sake. Why would an illegal racetrack be open in the broad daylight?
Yeah, I'm an idiot!
"So, where are we going?" I asked Trev.
"Katerina's" he replied without glancing at me.
"Weren't we supposed to go and find Ryder? I can't believe that you're thinking about eating in the middle of our mission." I huffed, crossing my arms over my chest.
"Tam, Ryder eats there everyday. Turns out, it's his favorite place too." Trev gave me a smirk, showing his dimples.
He was right though. Katerina's was my favorite place too. I just loved the cozy little diner.
Trev pulled the car into the parking.
As we got out, I immediately saw the black 'death carrier' Ryder drove. His bike. It was a clear indication that he was here.
Man, Trev really was Ryder's number 1 fan. He seemed to know all the whereabouts of the guy.
"Have you placed a tracking device on him or something? Because the last thing that I want to happen, is to get arrested for helping someone." I stated, clearly worried.
"Relax, Tam. Look, I very much want to be like Ryder. So one day, I just followed him everywhere he went. Just to familiarize myself with his routine." Trev explained like it wasn't a big deal at all.
"Wow! Aren't you a troublemaking paparazzi!" I exclaimed.
He just chuckled and grabbed my hand, leading me to the counter.
We always used to sit at a booth, so why was Trev dragging me to the counter?
That's when my eyes landed on a familiar bundle of soft black hair.
Ryder! He was sitting with his back to us.
Trev lead us there casually. Honestly, we were really good at pretending that we didn't notice Ryder. Little did he know that we were here for him only.
Trev didn't sit right next to Ryder. He left a seat in between. I sat myself on the right side of Trev, clearly not wanting to sit next to Ryder.
We ordered our regulars and I could feel piercing eyes on the side of my face. I knew that it was Ryder, but I pretended not to care.
"Oh shoot!" Trev had accidentally poked his hand with his fork.
But the look on his face clearly showed that it was no accident.
So, I decided to play along.
"Trev, you should be more careful. Well, some stupid people don't care about their health, but I didn't think that you were one of them." My statement was directed towards Ryder, not Trev.
I glanced up from Trev's hand to see that Ryder had frozen like a robot, in his seat.
"Here. Lemme take care of that." I pulled out a band aid from my bag and put it on Trev's hand.
Angry heat waves seemed to come towards our direction.
We both looked up at hearing the clatter of the glass plates.
Ryder had pushed his plates on the counter, making that sound.
He placed a twenty dollar bill on the counter and got up angrily.
Well, I thought that it was anger but his face was colder than ice. His pink lips were pressed into a thin line and his beautiful face showed a hard, emotionless demeanour.
He left his meal unfinished and stomped away, balling his large hands into fists.
The entire place was staring at him, but he didn't seem to care. He just continued his outburst and walked off.
I turned my gaze towards Trev to see him smirking.
"What? Why are you smirking?" I asked. This wasn't funny.
"Well, we're definitely having an effect on him." Trevor grinned more, revealing his dimples.
"Great!" I grinned back at him, poking my finger into his right dimple.
