Amanda's POV

I watched him lie motionless on the couch for the third day in a row. I took a deep breath and walked into the living room.

He didn't even look at me. He was surrounded by beer bottles, and the stench made me wrinkle my nose. This wasn't Blake.

"What's going on" I demanded, hands on my hips. "I've put up with you for three days now, and you still haven't done a damn thing. So start talking."

He burped, and I rolled my eyes. He was hungover.

"Amanda, have I ever told you how pretty you look in the light?"

"Blake, the lights are off."

"But I bet it's true."

I sighed and picked up the remote. I chucked it at his head. "You're a useless piece of shit."

"I know."

I sighed. His parents had told him that every day, and I knew it must've hurt him.

"Come on Blake, get up."

I took is arms and pulled him up off the couch and onto his feet. "Go clean up."

"What's the use?"

I looked at him, tears in my eyes. I'd known it all along in my heart, but I hadn't wanted to accept it. Now looking at him like this, I realized that he was in love with someone else. That he never really loved me the way he loves Alice.

The tears bubbled over, and he sighed. "Why are you crying?"

"Because I'm going to do something I'm going to regret for the rest of my life."

He looked at me, seriousness taking over his hungover features. "What?"

"I'm going to fix you."

"Fix me?"

I hugged him as tightly as I could, my heart breaking. I could feel his arms hesitantly wrapping around me.

"I'm letting you go" I whispered in his ear. I kissed his cheek and stepped away, wiping my tear-stained face. "Go get her Blake, she's waiting for you."

I turned and walked out the door, my shoulders shaking as I sobbed. I collapsed in my car and hugged my chest. I'd never felt such pain before, and I screamed. Why couldn't he love me?

Blake's POV

I watched her walk out the door, my heart breaking. Even through all the shit, she'd been my best friend. The person I could always trust.

I walked into the bathroom and looked at myself. I was a mess. I stepped out of my suit, which reeked of alcohol. It didn't surprise me, I'd been wearing it since the class reunion.

I showered and shaved. I brushed my teeth and fixed my hair. I chose a simple outfit that outlined my muscles.

I drove to the store and picked up a dozen pink roses. She'd always preferred them over red ones.

I opened the class reunion registry, and found Alice's address. I took a deep breath, this was it. I was finally going to tell her everything. She had to take me back.

Yeah, I know. A one page filler-chapter. Sorry, but this is crucial to the story. I promise the next chapter will be longer, and you'll be surprised. After all, we can't have a cliche story now can we? ;)
