wishes

the sounds of night
give off so many different vibes

how everything is so quiet
but the moon shines brightly
letting those who can't
be alone in the dark of night
know that day is coming

i wish we were together
alone on a roof
kissing under the sparkling stars

i wish your hair would
fall on my face
as i lay on your shoulder laughing

i wish your voice
would be here to laugh
or sing

i wish you would
wrap your arms around me
and tell me it's ok

but all the what ifs
the dreams i've created
will never become
anything more

i wish you were here.
