Six weeks later..
To say it was touch and go would be an understatement really, it would be. The doctors had managed to save me after going into cardiac arrest. But it was touch and go for a while.
My aunt had called my Mum to come. Which she did, with Dad. I had no idea what was happening with us, but it wasn't good. It was like I was the cause of everyone's problems. The cause of everyone losing their investments they had when everything fell apart.
I had no idea what was happening, and I was scared. Especially the day that Mum and Dad did come to visit me. They stood at the foot of my hospital bed and didn't smile or anything. But I have to admit that I was beginning to feel a little angry about everyone.
"What?" I snapped at them. "Whay are you here now for?"
"Don't talk to us like that young lady. Not after what you have done." Mum said to me.
"Really, what did I do" Care to explain?" I asked her. If she wanted to be snarky, I can be snarky too.
"Your actions have caused so many people to be hurt. How could you do that?" Dad asked me looking at me with such a disappointed look.
"Maybe if you tell me, I would know what you are talking about?" I snapped at them. I had no time anymore for anyone's bullshit. "Well?" I asked again.
"The papers you stole from your uncle's house were financial papers where money had been embezzled from the company Mr MacNulty work for. " Mum was saying. "Those papers also implicated a few others around town, including us. But we were lucky. Not everyone was."
"I have no idea what you are talking about. I didn't steal any papers from Uncles house. Rachel came over and gave them to me for Mack.." I started to say before I was cut off.
"Don't lie! You left some of your things there by accident." Mum screamed at me.
At her scream, some of the nurses came into the room to see what had happened.
"I'm not lying. I never go to their place. YOU KNOW THAT! Whatever they found of mine at their place was probably stolen and put there by Rachel. AND YOU KNOW IT." I was screaming back at them, which was hard to do with your jaw wired shut. It was like talking with your teeth gritted together.
My getting upset has caused some of the alarms to go off again, including the heart monitor again.
"You'll have to leave, people." The nurse told my parents.
"What happened?" Asked my aunt as she came into the room. She'd stepped out to grab some more things for me, like some books and puzzles and such and came back to find my parents here.
Walking over to my aunt, Mum gave her a large envelope with some forms in it. I found out later what they were when we were alone. But at that moment. Mum and Dad just left. They just walked out the door without a backward look at me. No hug, no kiss, no nothing. They just left.
"What's happening, Aunty?" I asked her in a very tremulous voice. Tears were also beginning to run down my face. I was so very confused. So much has happened and I don't know how to fix it. Or what to do.
Opening the envelope, Aunty Vi pulled out the papers and gasped at what she was looking at. She was so shocked that she stumbled to the chair beside my bed and fell onto the chair there.
"Oh my god. How could they." She muttered while looking through the papers.
"What is it Aunty? What's happened?" I asked her tearfully, grabbing the blankets in my hands and twisting them as I was so nervous.
