The End Part I & II

This chapter is split in two parts. Part I is like the morning  Kat wakes up in Ricky's bed and Part II is flash forward to the end of the school year when Ricky's going away to college. I have it marked. I thought this was nice so you could see them together after sex and then at the end of the year so the epilogue would make sense.

The End Part I

I woke up to someone's arm wrapped around me. I quickly recalled the events that took place last night, and I could honestly say I didn't regret it one bit. I smiled as I rolled over in Ricky's arms. I thought his face was so cute when he is asleep. I didn't realize I was staring until he startled me by speaking.

"You just going to stare at me the entire time?" he asked popping his eyes open. I jumped back only to be pulled back to his chest.

"Ricky, we have school," I said.

"I say we just skip," he said.

"On the second week of school?" I said. "No, we're not doing that."

"Fine," he grumbled letting me go.

"I shouldn't have stay over last night," I said. "I don't have any clothes."

"Just run to your house and get some clothes," Ricky said.

"Yeah, I'm going to do that," I said. "I'll see you at school."

I threw my clothes on, and gave him a quick kiss before I ran out the door. I checked my phone that I grabbed out of Ricky's jeans before I walked out the apartment. I had like three missed calls, ten text messages, and five missed face time calls from Connie. I called her back to figure out what the hell she wanted.

"Where the hell have you been?" she shouted as soon as she answered. "I've been going out of my mind!"

"I've---" I started but stopped. "I'll tell you at school because it's a lot to explain over the phone. I'm running late, but don't we have homeroom today?"

"Yeah, I'll see you there," she said hanging up.

I walked into homeroom looking like a mess since I only had like twenty minutes to get ready, eat, and make it to school on time. I sat down next to Connie, and she instantly knew something was up.

"What the hell happened to you?" she asked.

"Me and Ricky had sex," I whispered.

"What?" she asked.

"Ms. Baker is there something you would like to share with the class?" Mrs. Fields asked Connie.

"No, ma'am," Connie said.

"Then stop talking," she ordered.

"I'll tell you after class," I mouthed then turned back to the front before Mrs. Fields snapped at me, too.

Mrs. Fields was going over this assembly we're going to have tomorrow. We sat there for thirty minutes listening to her talk, and finally the bell rang signally us to go to first period. As soon as we were out the door, Connie was already asking questions.

"What happened?" she asked. "When? More importantly where?"

"I went over to his house after Ms. Grisham finally let me go," I said. "I was going to show him the recording of Amberly admitting she started all the rumors to him, but he took my phone before I could press play. He kissed me and one thing led to another.

"Wow," she said.

"We're going to be late for class," I said closing my locker. "So what was with all the missed calls and text messages?"

"I was worried," she said. "You left out of sixth hour and never came back."

"Well, I'm fine," I said as we walked into first hour.

A Year Later

Ricky and I were sitting in the living room with his suitcases. He was heading off to college today leaving me behind for senior year. Thing have been great between us, and we promised each other that we would keep in touch, but we wouldn't be a couple because we both felt like we shouldn't tie each other down.

Connie and Jake were coming over for lunch before we headed off to the airport so Ricky could catch his plane. Speaking of . . . There was a knock on the door, and I got up to answer it while Ricky went to the kitchen to take everything out. Connie and Jake had brought something over in a pan. It looked like cookies, but I couldn't be sure because there was a lid over them.

"Cookies," she said. "Sarah made them so I know they're good."

Sarah a.k.a Ms. Grisham was now Mrs. Baker and Connie's stepmom. I nodded my head and grabbed the pan from her. They followed me into the kitchen.

"And I stole this from my dad's liquor cabinet," Jake said. "Too bad you can't drink it."

Jake pointed at me and Ricky. I laughed and took the bottle out of his hand.

"Doesn't mean I can't when I get back," I said. "Let's eat."

We sat down at the table after we fixed our plates, and enjoyed the two hours we had left with each other. I promised Ricky that I wouldn't be sad that he was leaving, and I'm pretty sure that I won't be able to keep that promise. Maybe long enough to drop him off at the airport.

It was finally time to drive Ricky to the airport, and I was on the verge of crying. We loaded his stuff up into the back of my mustang, and we hit the road to LAX. Connie and Jake told him bye, and that he should keep in touch. We didn't talk much as I drove, and when we did talk it was about something unimportant. Well, the moment of truth came and I pulled into the parking lot of the airport.I parked the car and we sat there for about two minutes before Ricky finally talked first.

"It's going to be okay," he said.

"I know," I said getting out of the car. I opened the trunk so that we could get Ricky's stuff out the back. Ricky grabbed my hand stopping me from pulling out any of his suitcases. He turned me around pressing his lips to mine. It was a little peck.

"I love you," he said.

"What?" I asked freezing not knowing what else to say.

"That's not the exact response I was hoping for," he said. "I said, I love you."

"I'm sorry," I said. "I love you, too. You just never told me before until now; it took me by surprise."

"It's going to take a few months maybe for us to get used to this, but it's not like we're never going to talk to each other again," he said. "Here."

He removed his leather jacket, and handed it to me. I took it but shot him a questioning look.

"Now we have to meet again because I'm going to want my jacket back," he said.

"You're hilarious," I said. "I don't want your jacket. You're going to miss your plane."

"Take the jacket," he said grabbing his bags. "I'll call you when I land."

"Okay," I said watching him walk towards the airport.
