I don't know when our friendship changed to something more. I think we were fourteen that year. Each time we would go somewhere and when we would be holding hands, this nice tingly feeling would shoot up my arm from my hand. It would make me feel warm all over.
"Do you feel that?" I asked Mack once.
"Feel what?" He was asking as we were walking to school one morning.
"Those tingles." I said when I squeezed his hand.
"Of course I do. That means you are my girl." He said with a smile. Then he leaned over and kissed my cheek taking his hand from mine and putting his arm around my neck and pulled me closer to him. Then he rubbed his face in my hair.
Pulling back, I looked up at him a little since he was now a couple of inches taller than me.
"Did you just rub your nose in my hair and get snot all over it?" I asked him in an annoyed voice.
"No. I just love the smell of your hair. It smells like sunshine and rain, all at once." He said to me which made me stop and look up at him. He had this sappy look on his face when he looked at me. He made me smile. Lifting a little on tippy toes, I leaned up and kissed him on the lips real quick like.
Behind us we heard the sound of a car horn that blared. Looking around, we saw it was just my cousin Billy. He's a senior in High School in his last year. He's not too bad of a cousin, I suppose as I wave to him. He just looks at me and points down the road.
That means he wants me to get to school tight quickly instead of snogging with Mack. We just laugh and start walking to school again. It didn't take long before it was in sight and we would have to soon get to class.
Now that we are a bit older, our likes have changed and that means that our classes have changed too. He's doing the more many classes like engineering and metal work with a bit of woodwork thrown in. But I think he likes Tech most of all.
Anyway, it wasn't long after we walked into the school that the first bell went signalling for us to make our way to class, so with a squeeze of the hand and a wave at each other, Mack and I went out separate ways.
My first class this morning was science. I like science. It was very interesting to me. Especially Earth Science. Anything to do with the earth fascinates me. I was thinking of following up with a geologist class when one became available in a few years. Maybe including an archaeologist course as well.
I suppose you can tell that I like anything to do with our planet. I'm not much of a space person, but give me the earth and I'm a happy camper. Billy likes the stars. I think he's going into the Astronomy field of science.
I was sitting down in my usual seat when Rachel came in with her friends, and as usual, she tries to make class difficult for me. But I just ignore her. She doesn't like it when I do, but I don't care.
"Mack and Jenny sitting in a tree, K-I-S-S-I-N-G." Rachel started singing causing everyone to laugh at me like her friends were doing.
"Why, Rachelle. Are you jealous it wasn't you?" I said back to her.
That seemed to shut her up, as well as her friends. But before she could do or say anything the teacher walked in.
"Miss, Jenny and Mack were outside kissing." Rachelle called out causing me to snapped my head up and look at her in annoyance.
"Jenny, I think you might have to see the principal young lady." Ms Kook said.
"Yes Miss. But I should point out that Rachel only tattled cause when she tries to kiss Mack, he pushes her away cause he says she smells like a wet dog." The class roared out in laughter at that.
