In the movie Endless love, advice is given to a guy that he should let go of the girl he loves. He's told that eventually he will forget about this girl and that she'll become like a book he read long ago.
I put myself in his shoes, because, right now I am in his shoes. I remember the first book I read, the first book I loved. If I come across it again it would be like coming home. I would be able to move around with my eyes closed. That's profound to me because I feel about that book the same way I feel about that person. I still think it would feel like coming home...and if he called me 6 years from now at 3am, I would still answer and I would recite that book to him.
