Song of the chapter: Cigarette Daydreams by Cage The Elephant. I swear that's one of the best songs I've ever heard. It's kinda related to the story, I guess.
I immediately dropped my phone.
"JACK TAKE ME TO THE FREAKING HOSPITAL RIGHT THIS INSTANT!" I screamed, not caring about how ugly I looked or the amount of tears streaming down my face.
"WHY?! W- WHAT HAPPENED?!"
"NO TIME FOR A FREAKING EXPLANATION JACK I'LL TELL YOU LATER JUST GET ME TO THE FREAKING HOSPITAL!!!!!! NOW!"
I screeched at the top of my lungs.
Jack seemed to understand what was going on, and scrambled around looking for the keys.
He found them, and we sprinted outside to his car.
After a while of tears, traffic, yelling, and overplayed music, we arrived at the hospital.
I sprinted inside, Johnson following close behind me.
My shoes screeched as if they were getting pelted by boulders when I came to a stop at the front desk.
"TAYLOR RAYE, TAYLOR RAYE! WHERE IS SHE! SHE- SHE GOT INTO A CAR ACCIDENT WHERE IS SHE I NEED TO SEE HER I AM HER FREAKING BEST FRIEND, ALSO KNOWN AS HER SISTER I NEE-"
My uncontrollable rage was calmed by the soothing, gentle voice of a lady, seeming to be in her early thirties.
"Ma'am, I am afraid you would have to calm down before I could give you that information."
"Right, sorry. My best friend, Taylor Raye, she's basically my sister, she got into a- a- a car accident." I managed to squeak out without bursting out in anger.
"Yes, Taylor Raye. She is not available at the moment, she is going through surgery; she fractured 6 ribs, one arm, her leg, and received a severe cut to the stomach. She may not make it.." The service lady trailed off.
I lost it right then and there.
I burst out into even more tears, my body going limp and numb. I fell to the floor, Johnson rushing up behind me. I couldn't take it anymore. I passed out.
Lily passed out right in front of me, her body a blanket of skin on the floor. (who tf would compare a body to a blanket of skin i'm so sorry that's disgusting)
"LILY LILY STAY WITH ME!!"
She didn't budge at all.
I sighed, and picked her up. She's really light. I sat down on the rough, ugly chairs and breathed out a breath I didn't know I was holding.
It felt like eons would past by before Lily woke up, or before Taylor, or whatever her name was, was out of surgery.
Quite soon after my far-fetched thought, Lily woke up, confused.
"Wha- wha- what happened? Why am I at the hospital? A- AM I DEAD?!" She freaked out. I laughed.
"No Lily, you're at the hospital because Taylor.." I gulped, "was in a car crash. You fainted.." I trailed off.
"Oh yeah.. DO YOU THINK SHE'LL BE OKAY??!!"
"Lily, I really can't say.. she seems severely injured. But she seems like a fighter, she'll probably get through it." I gave her a light smile to make her feel better; hopefully it worked.
