How I feel when I'm around you (System Of A Down)(EN)

Idea

Three days later Hilary and I meet again at the same bar for a drink; this evening there is some animation thanks to two guys who, as a singer&guitarist duo, play and sing in acoustic version many latest hits, older stuff and even some vaguely country songs, they're good but they're quite dull. While waiting for my drink I've chatted a bit with the barman, who has told me that the bar owns the guitar the guys are using and it can be requested from anyone to play there; I've played the guitar for years and I decide to give it a try even if I'm already shaking for the anxiety. Shit.

«For how long do you think they'll go on?» I ask Hilary with a quite dejected face.

«I really don't know and I hope they'll end soon!» she answers with the same face as me.

After a half hour more the guys stop and leave the guitar on the chairs they used.

«On to the next one!» the bartender summons warmly.

I already feel the effect of the alcohol and the anxiety has surprisingly decreased, so I get up and go to sit on one of the two chairs, ignoring people's glances, and I pick up the guitar, checking the tuning; I strum some chords as a trial, then I inhale and start a song, "Californication" by Red Hot Chili Peppers.

After the song ends I receive a little applause and I thank with a nod, then I strive to find another song and I choose a melancholic one, "I don't want to miss a thing" by Aerosmith; I feel my eyes getting wet while playing but I pretend to be okay, even if that song makes some old memories surface and makes me sad...

«One of the usual tech experts who come with us on tour, the problem solver one, has just informed that he won't be with us for this tour... he's had a little accident and has various displaced fractures, he'll recover completely in some months» John announces entering in the room in which we're all together.

«Shit! Let's hope he'll get well soon... and now who will replace him?» Serj mutters.

«I've got an idea!» Daron springs up from the couch happily.

«Daron, you're dangerous» I joke, but he gives me a scowl.

«Nikki might replace him for this tour» he says, serious, looking at each one of us.

«Seriously?»

«Yep. She's an expert of PC and stuff so she's a clerk and a technician in that shop. I think she might replace our missing expert, she might learn something from the others and collaborate with the team.»

Not a bad idea to be honest...

«Malakian, you're a little genius sometimes!» Serj exclaims and pats on Daron's head.

«Tankian, you should stop bullying me only because you're 8 years older than me and taller than me» he grunts, grimacing.

«Anyway, how we're going to tell Nikki about it?»

«Better not telling her with a text... we should make some phone calls before to be sure that this replacement is okay, then I think that tomorrow one of us should go to the shop to tell her.»

«That's okay!»

«Hungryyy!» the guitarist shouts running around like a crazy. «I'm hungryyy!»

«Gnome, be patient, there isn't a fast food here...»

«Umpf!»

«I'm going out for a walk!» I announce happily after dinner. «Care to join?»
