Chapter Sixteen

Natsu's POV:

"Please love me back," Gray said, eyes pleading. His pitiable state made me want to wrap him in my arms and comfort him. But I shouldn't be thinking that. It'll just lead him on and cause me more trouble. But u want Gray to be happy. Why can't I make him happy?

"I'm really sorry," I had lost count of how many times I had said those words. Without hesitation, I brought Gray into an embrace. His figure was a bit larger than mine, so it was a bit awkward, but it was the least I could do. I felt Gray's body tense up slightly, but soon he relaxed and hugged me back.

"I really do love you," he said, his warm breath hitting my neck, "More than you think I do."

"I know," I muttered in response. We stood there in an embrace for quite awhile before we both awkwardly moved away. It was silent after that, until Gray finally spoke up;

"Go on a date with me," the ice mage said. It wasn't a question, it was more of a statement, "If you still don't love me after that, I'll leave you alone."
