Anora slowed her breathing to keep herself calm, or rather to keep herself from losing her temper and doing something that would probably end up regretting later on. However, the point of the wand digging into the middle of her back was pissing her off.

'You know, I could tell from the moment you laid eyes on me, that we were going to have a problem." Marisol growled at her.

"Well, I guess I was right in knowing that you were evil." Anora muttered.

"Evil? Is that what you think I am?"

"No, I don't think you're evil, I said I knew you were evil. " She was shoved forward but before she could reach for her wand, Marisol had hers pointed at her head.

"Don't you even dare try." Marisol said. "I'll have you on the ground begging me to stop if you even try reaching for your wand again."

Anora raised a brow. "What...what do you want from the sanctuary?"

"I wanted you to mind your business and let me do my job. I could have been in and out with no problem if you didn't interfere."

"Interfere with what? What did you want with the dragons?" Anora asked. "Why do the dragons look at you the way they do?"

Marisol grinned, lowering her wand slightly.

"You've done some work with the Ministry before, haven't you Anora?"

"Yes?" Anora answered unsure of where the woman was going with the conversation.

"You understand then how the Beast Division monitors the dragon activity in order to reduce any black market activity?"

"You-"

"Do you know how much dragon hide goes for on the market? A decent amount. However, that's the hide that's been collecting humanely...or after the dragon is dead. If you only knew the difference the hide makes once a dragon has been skinned alive-"

"You're sick!" Anora spat. "You can't skin alive a dragon-"

"Oh I can't....are you sure about that because I'm pretty sure I've already done it."

"Is that why you're here then! To skin the dragons..."

"Oh no, not this time at least. I have another orders to fill in. Dragon eggs are all the rage right now."

Anyone who worked with dragons knew how illegal it was to sell dragon eggs. It was classified as a Class A Non-Tradable Material.

Anora's mind wandered to the dwindling numbers of eggs in the nesting grounds. Perhaps it wasn't just the dragon nature that had caused their numbers to decrease.

"You've been stealing the eggs then, to sell on the market."

"You're so incredibly clever, Anora." Marisol said in a sickeningly sweet voice.

"So let me get this straight, you've been traveling from sanctuary to sanctuary to gather whatever you need to sell on the black market?"

"That's correct."

She thought of the dragons that had recently come to the sanctuary and then thought of the poor Hebridean Black dragon that had feared the woman.

His reasoning seemed justified in that moment.

"Your name isn't even Marisol, is it? No one has heard of you in any of the other sanctuaries I contacted."

"I see you did your homework as well. I have to say I'm impressed in how quickly you caught on, Anora. Really, I applaud you. We could use a brain like yours working for our group."

"Rather be burned alive." Anora spoke harshly towards the woman. "Now what's your name?"

"Carmen." the woman revealed. " Carmen Agata."

"Well, Carmen, I suggest you lower your wand and turn yourself in because it's not like you're going to get away with any of this now."

"Anora, I've been doing this since I was sixteen, you think you're the first person to discover what I've been up to? Of course not, I've dealt with wizards and witches who couldn't mind their business. You're not the first and you're certainly not going to be the last."

Anora didn't like the sound of any of that.

"I'm going to walk out of the sanctuary with whatever I need to complete my order. My group is making their rounds right now."

"Your group? What group!?

"I told them to say hello to you the other night."

The broken window flashed before Anora's eyes as she shook her head.

"Do you honestly think I'm going to let you do all this?" Anora said.

"No, I'm sure you would try to do the noble thing and stop me, but I can't afford that right now."

Carmen's wand was directly in Anora's face again. "You see, Anora, those who find out my little secret end up telling no one and do you know why?"

"No, but I'm sure you're going to tell me, aren't you?"

"Yes I am. They don't tell anyone because you can't tattle when you're dead. And of course, working in a dragon sanctuary works against you in this case. When they find your body remains and I claim that your precious Roscoe went on a rampage, it'll all be written in the books as an accident."

"You must be pretty stupid to think Charlie would allow anyone to believe that."

"That's why we're taking care of Charlie too."

Anora's blood ran cold. "What did you say?"

"Two dragon handlers that thought they shared a unique relationship with two dragons were found this early evening dead...shredded by the beasts they loved the most. What a sad ending for you two."
