Chapter 2

Emma was pacing in the waiting room until she finally made up her mind to go and check on the woman. She went around to look at each room until she reached room 28. She saw through the window that woman lying regally and connected with wires and cords of some sort. Her make up was a little stained and the moniter beat quietly in the backround. The woman stirred and opened her eyes, revealing pretty chocolate colored pools.

"Hi" Emma started, sheepishly, doing a halfwave. "I'm so sorry. I'm the one who kinda crashed into your life. I'm also the one that called the ambulance."

"A least it wasn't a hit and run" The woman smiled gently.

"Oh I'm Emma. Emma Swan" Emma stated blushing, realized she didn't even know the person's name.

"Regina Mills" How was this woman so calm. Emma wondered.

"I'm so sorry for hitting you. I promise that I'll stay by your side until you get better. " Emma apologized.

"I'm only going to be in for one more day. I guess I could use some company." Regina smirked, a hint of sarcasm in her voice.

"So what brings you to storybrook?" Emma asked, trying to break the ice.

"Well... I'm the mayor." Regina watched as Emma's jaw gaped.

"I can't believe I hit the mayor. Yay for first impresions." Emma said her hands thrown up in disbelief.

Regina gave a slight chuckle at this. "It's okay. It's not that bad. Only a few bruises and cuts. This one is definatly going to scar" She pointed to a small scratch on her lip.

"You should have called me sooner!" A girl cloaked in red from head to toe rushed in, holding two Granny's meals. "Oh sorry, I didn't realize there was someone here"

"Ruby" The girl said, setting down the bags. "You can call me Red"

"Emma" The blonde shook out her hand. "I'll be back to check on you" She left without another word.

"Who is THAT?" Asked Ruby.

"The woman who hit me."

"Do I need to give her a piece of my mind!"

"No no nothing like that. She's the one who called the ambulance and wouldn't stop apologizing." Regina smiled softly, not bothered by the pain.

"She's pretty isn't she." Ruby asked, nosy like usual.

"Yeah I guess she is" Regina responded although she hadn't considered it.

"What's she doing in Storybrooke?"

"I don't know. I really don't" Regina said.

In the waiting room Emma felt her phone PING.

Mary: Where are you Emma. You should have called me back like you were supposed to.

Emma: Sorry Mom. I had an accident.

Mary: Foolish girl. You should have been paying attention to the road.

Emma: The woman I hit is fine

Mary: You better hope she is. I don't plan on paying any fines on your cause.

Emma: I apologized okay.

Mary: You're not to use that tone with me. I'll see you tomorow for lunch as planned. Your father will be joining me.

Emma: Bye

Emma's eyes were already glossing over. She hated meeting with her "parents". Her mom always critized her for her choices and her dad had always been forced to support her for Emma's purposes. Her mom always acted nice and led her on before Emma tripped on the wire and got caught in the trap. Mary Margaret was strict, and thought there was only one right way to do something. Her way. Emma pushed away her tears and saw Ruby leaving. Ruby gave her a little half wave as she pushed open the exit door.
