"Put the damn book down," I growled as Harry picked up his potions book. He started flipping through it, and I ripped it out of his hands.
"What was that for?!" he shouted as I put it away in my bag.
"We're not using your stupid cheating one. We're using mine."
Slughorn had made the whole class pair up, and we would be working together for the whole lesson. Ron had asked Hermione to work with him, due to his 'Inability to make things work the way they should' ( I know he's in love with her..). Harry had then scanned the room, and finally had asked me to be his partner.. Boys..
"How is it different from all the other ones? It's exactly the same, it just has different-"
"Rubbish!" I yelled. Apparently Slughorn had heard, because he came walking over.
"Is there a problem here?" he asked, looking to both Harry and me for answers. My face flushed, and I looked down.
"No, Professor," I hissed.
"Well start making your potion," Slughorn said, then walked away. I hit Harry hard on the shoulder with my charms textbook.
"You're a bloody idiot." I flipped open my Potions book went to the page I had previously bookmarked. "Go grab some daisy roots, shrivelfig, a caterpillar, a.. Oh god that's nasty, a rat spleen.. And some leech juice. Yes I think that's all." Harry went to grab some stuff, then returned a few minutes later.
An hour later I sat looking at a greenish-orange bubbling potion, slightly satisfied. Someone would probably turn mental if they drank it, though. No big deal.
Apparently, Harry was looking at the cauldron with the same confused face that I was currently looking at it with. I heard him scowl.
"Now, if we had used my potions book it would have turned out right. It says in the book the end result is supposed to be-"
"Oh shut up, will you?" I grumbled. I didn't need him to tell me it looked gross; I had my own eyes. Taking a vial off of the counter, I poured some of the potion into it and twisted the tiny lid on. I walked over to Slughorn's desk and set the small vial there. Walking back to the desk Harry and I shared, I heard a few snickers coming from people behind me. I glanced back and saw Pansy Pugface giggling at me. I ignored her, and sat down on my stool.
"What's up with them?" Harry asked me.
What's up with you?" I growled.
"What's up with you?" he said, and turned to look at me. "Is something wrong? You've been grouchy all day."
"That's me, Ms. Grouchy." I said.
"Or perhaps Ms. Professor Grouchy?" he said "Is that a better title for you? Or maybe Ms. Professor Grouchy Pants?"
I started to smile, but them stopped.
"Seriously, what's wrong?" Harry looked at me. I knew I had to tell him sometime. I took a deep breath and sighed.
"I'll tell you in common room later tonight." I told him.
Potions ended, and after Charms ended I was wiped out. Classes were over for the day and I had loads of homework. I walked into the common room and sat down on a chair next to the fire, and pulled a sheet out of my bag. It was Transfiguration homework and I had to write a short essay on who knows what.
I started writing random stuff on my new piece of parchment and I continued dipping my quill in my old bottle of ink.
My mind was strayed from everything I was doing. I was gazing into the fire flaming in the fireplace, mesmerized by the hot flames I felt on my body. It was until my eyes dried out and watered that I blinked again. I moved my hand to grab my quill and I knocked something. The ink bottle spilled over and my hand was instantly covered in ink. The ink ran from its place on the arm chair to my hoodie, and it spread to part of my jeans. I lunged for my wand and hit my ink bottle. Before seconds passed, my half written paper was covered in ink, and my wand was knocked over on the ground.
