"Argh!" Anora cried out in pain before letting a series of curses. "Damn, that hurts, Sebs."

"I'm sorry, but what were you expecting?" The healer sighed, looking at the woman. The side of her face had been horribly scraped by Norberta's affectionate nuzzling.

Gripping the edge of the table, as Sebastian applied some healing mixture to her face, Anora's face contorted as she refrained from kicking the man out of pain.

"Okay, okay!" she jerked her head back. "Stop touching it!"

"How else am I supposed to put the ointment on, then!?" Sebastian turned to Charlie. "Control your woman, will you?"

Anora's jaw dropped while Charlie's eyes widened.

"Control me?!"

"Oh now you've done it!" Charlie said.

Sebastian turned to Anora. "What?"

"You're asking Charlie to control me, what the hell is that supposed to mean?" Anora growled at him.

"I uh..."Sebastian looked to Charlie for help but Charlie shook his head.

"You're on your own mate. You said it."

"Well, I just thought..." Sebastian started but stopped as Anora's folded her arms over her chest glaring at him. "Uh.."

"You thought wrong. No one controls me, but myself, thank you very much." she said hopping down from the table, grabbing the ointment and leaving the two men in silence.

"Thanks for the back up." Sebastian huffed at Charlie.

"Uh, you're the one who said something like that. Do you not know Anora?"

"I was only fooling around!"

"Well, she doesn't fool around like that. Her mother and father raised her to be very strong and independent. So when you say things like that...she doesn't look too kindly upon it."

Anora stood before a mirror examining her cheek where the skin was freshly exposed and bright pink. She made a face as Iggy jumped onto the edge of the sink, watching her.

She peered down at the cat. "Does it look bad?" she asked him.

The cat meowed loudly.

"You're not just saying that so I feed you extra right?"

Iggy stared at her blankly causing her to laugh.

"Alright, alright." she left the room with Iggy in tow.

Charlie arrived shortly after to see Anora fixing Iggy's meal while the cat purred on the counter top.

He walked over watching as she tried to busy herself to hide her annoyance.

He chuckled lightly before taking Iggy's bowl from her and setting aside.

"Hey, I was fixing Iggy's food-"

"And he can wait. He won't starve." Charlie said. "Trust me."

Iggy's ear flicked in irritation while Charlie directed Anora to face him.

He lifted his hand and lightly touched at her cheek.

"Man, Norberta got you good there...she must really like you all of a sudden."

"Yeah, I wish we could have just agreed to affectionate high fives." Anora said.

"Sebastian said it will heal quickly and be as good as new. "

"Oh really? What else did he have to say?"

"That he was sorry for upsetting you and that he was joking."

"Yeah, I'm not so sure that was fully a joke. This sanctuary is male majority and by chance a female does something they don't like, they want the men to jump in and control their women...I don't think so. I'm just as tough as the men around here, I've earned my place."

Charlie smiled and brought Anora over to the sofa to sit with him.

"You are're probably the toughest person here in my opinion and you have earned your place. But I think you have to understand that a strong female is very intimidating to a lot of the guys around here."

"Why? They deal with the female dragons around here on a regular basis."

"Yes and there is a reason why they call you a dragon around here."

"They do?" Anora questioned.

"Yes, quite often. A lot of them think you were a dragon in a past life reincarnated into a woman who is still just as fiery."

"I don't think I'm fiery, I'm just not one to roll over and let them say such stupid things. Just because we are dating does not mean you have control over me."

"And I know this." Charlie said. "I wouldn't want to control you...I only wish to protect you that's all. Not because I'm a man and you're a woman, but because I love you very much and I never want to see you hurt. But I understand that you are extremely strong, because I don't think anyone in this sanctuary would have remained that calm with a dragon being nose to nose with them."

Anora smiled and leaned into him.

"Sorry I didn't mean to get worked up back there."

"Hey, I thought you handled it quite well." Charlie said. "You've come a long way from the little quiet girl I met on the train all those years ago."

"That's because I'm not a little girl anymore, I'm a dragon, apparently."
