The Avengers Babysit Loki?!

A Fight and Something Heroic

"Alright, everyone spread out, surround her. Tony, you go find Loki and give him the cure." Steve says.

"I would like to go with Tony, to see my brother." Thor says.

"No, we need you to fight. Remember what happened last time? If it wasn't for Loki, some of us might not have made it out. We need everyone fighting." Steve says. Thor nods. "Everyone go, wait for my signal."

Everyone spreads out and goes to their spots. Tony walks down to where they think Loki should be. Loki is there, but he's not moving. Worry starts to go through Tony. He looks around and sees Vritra standing by Loki. Tony signals to Steve. Steve nods and signals to the others. They all jump down and get ready to fight. Vritra hears them and walks out. Tony jumps down and walks up to Loki. He's still not moving.

Loki is woken up by someone shaking him. He opens his eyes, but everything is blurry. All he sees is a figure in front of him, he kicks it.

"Ow! Hey, hey, hold up, it's me." Tony says. Loki blinks a few times and his vision clears.

"Tony?" Loki asks.

"Yeah. Yeah kid it's me." Tony says.

"You don't know how happy I am to see you." Loki says.

"Yeah yeah save all the mushy stuff." Tony says as he starts to untie Loki. When he is free, Loki rubs his wrist, then he remembers the torture Vritra put him through.

"No. No! You shouldn't have come! It's a trap! You should have just left me here!" Loki says.

"We were not going you leave you here. And it's OK we have it handled." Tony says.

"Tony!" Steve yells from where they are fighting. "Tony! We need help! We need the adult version of Loki! Give him the cure already!"

"Oh yeah I forgot." Tony says as he grabs a needle filled with green liquid.

"You had it this whole time?" Loki asks.

"Yup, uh this might hurt a little." Tony says.

"Wait what?" Loki says right as Tony stabs him with the needle. Tony was right it's hurts, Loki falls to his knees.

"Alright you should be your normal age in just a few minutes. I have to go help fight the over grown lizard lady. Apparently we don't have it handled." Tony says and runs off into the fight. Loki lays the ground, writhing in pain.

The fight goes on, the Hulk knocked out, Hawkeye his arm and leg pinned under rubble, Black Widow shot and bleeding bad, Iron Man had over heated and has blacked out, Captain America has a bad cut in his leg but he is still trying to help the others. That only leaves Thor to fight Vritra.

"This is just pathetic. You're here to save your to save your brother from his death and you are just going to die yourself. Why would you want to save him? What has he ever done for you?" Vritra says.

"He is my brother and I love him. I will always protect him, you will not harm him as long as there is still life in my body." Thor says.

"Pathetic." Vritra says as she attacks. Thor dodges and swings his hammer at Vritra. She dodges his attack and knocks Mjolnir out of his hand. She throws fire at him causing him to loose balance and fall to the ground.

Loki is now breathing heavy from the pain. He grabs at the dirt and squeezes his eye shut tight. He pushes himself up off the ground. He looks down, he's an adult again. Loki is still dizzy from the cure Tony gave him. He looks up to see Thor laying on the ground and Vritra walking towards him. Vritra throws fire at Thor, burning him just like Vritra said when she was torturing Loki. Vritra continues to walk at Thor, Loki looks at her hand, his dagger. He grabs at his pocket, its gone, she has it. Loki reaches out and grabs something, anything, that he can use as a weapon. He grabs something, not even knowing what it is he get up and runs at Vritra.

"Looks like this is the end for you tough guy." Vritra says to Thor, she raises the dagger above her head.

Right as she is about to end Thor's life, she's hit, by Loki. Loki hits Vritra with the thing that he grabbed. Vritra goes flying, Loki runs after her. She ends up on the ground, Loki pins her there by her throat. He stays there with the thing he grabbed raised over his head. Vritra looks at Loki's hand, then smiles.

"You think you have defeated me? Ha, this is simply a setback. I have something much bigger in mind. Now for my get away. Look at your hand." Vritra says. Loki glares at her, then he glances at his hand.

He can't believe his eyes. The thing that he grabbed, was Mjolnir. Loki, for the first time in his life, is worthy. While Loki is distracted, Vritra vanishes. Loki looks around for her, but when he can't find her, he just stands up. He looks back at his hand, still stunned that he is actually welding Mjolnir.

"Loki?"

Loki turns around to see everyone standing behind him, everyone looks stunned. He looks at who said his name, Thor.

"Loki, you are worthy brother." Thor says, smiling. Loki looks at him, then back at his hand.

"How can he lift that thing and I can't?!" Tony yells.

"He is worthy, and you are not." Thor says.

"Grrr, well I am Iron Man so." Tony says crossing his arms and pouting.

"You saved my life, all of our lives." Thor says.

"Yeah for the second time too." Clint adds.

"I just- I don't know, I just-I." Loki says, he doesn't know what to say.

"You saved our lives, we are in debt to you. What you did was very noble." Steve says.

"Thank you." Loki says.

"Well no one else is going to say it so, you know, we could use him. He could help us, be a good addition to the team." Natasha says.

"I have to agree, and it doesn't seem like he's evil anymore. I mean how could he be? He's holding the hammer." Bruce says.

"I don't see a problem with it. Give me plenty of payback time." Clint says.

"Yes brother! You should join us! Become a hero!" Thor says.

"Is no one gonna ask my opinion?" Tony asks, everyone ignores him.

"What do you think Cap?" Natasha asks.

"Well, I guess he could be a good addition to the team. What do you think Loki? Do you want to become an Avenger?" Steve asks. Everyone looks at Loki, waiting for his answer. Loki looks at each of them, he tries to hold back a smile.

"Why not." Loki says. Everyone cheers, except for Tony.

"Alright hold on! This is the guy who tried to kill us! You really think it's a good idea to make him part of the team?!" Tony says.

"Dude really? He saved your life, twice, and look at him. He's holding the hammer! That proves he's a good guy. You can't even hold the hammer." Natasha says. Tony raises his finger to protest but can't think of anything.

"I still think it's a bad idea." Tony says.

"You know." Loki says. "You never did get me that drink."

"You know what? This is a great idea, the best idea I've heard in a while. Welcome to the team Loki." Tony says. "Let's go, I'm getting him a drink."

Everyone start to leave. Loki looks at his hand, he still has the hammer.

"Oh uh sorry, here." Loki says, he hold out the hammer to Thor.

"You can carry it if you like. It is quite heavy." Thor says jokingly.

"Ehehe, thanks." Loki says.

"Oh, Loki, what did Vritra say before she vanished?" Steve asks.

"She said something about this just being a setback. And she had something bigger in mind." Loki says.

"Well, we'll have to stay on the edge. Be ready for her to attack." Steve says.

"Alright Loki what kind of drink do you want? I have a good selection, some from Hawaii, Europe, even Africa." Tony says throwing an arm over Loki's shoulders.

"Ehehehe, whatever you want Stark." Loki says.

They all walk back to the tower and have a celebration party for Loki joining the Avengers.
