Final Word
(I don't think anyone on Wattpad really does one of these, but I see
myself as a TREND-SETTER, so…)
Well, firstly, WOW! This is the first novel I've ever finished! I've
started HUNDREDS of stories throughout my life, but never actually
finished one (unless you count my countless endeavours to recreate The
Tweenies' Easter when I was about five).
So, let me tell you about the story. I started it by just doing some
casual descriptive writing. I described a bedroom.
Then I wanted to create a gay romance. Then I added a new, more
desolate element: Aiden's mother and the bullying. Then I created his
character and his reaction. The first TEN chapters are very wobbly.
They change a lot. I was developing and experimenting.
It was always meant to have a sad ending: Matt finally admitting his
love - but Aiden's waited so long; he doesn't want to hear it.
David just happened. I had a bit of writer's block and along came
David, on the back of a horse, riding into my mind. I think Aiden was
lonely, even with Matt and just needed someone to fall back on.
Every single character in this has problems, and I think that's the
main moral of the story.
I didn't touch on some of their problems, or I did, but they were too
subtle. I love having secrets that the reader never guesses! Like J.K
Rowling admitting that Dumbledore's gay . . .
So then. THIS ISN'T THE END!
Well, it is. But over the next few months, I'll be editing it and
changing bits and all that jazz. There'll be an extra odd storyline,
possibly an extra character, certainly David will be in it a lot more
from the start. It'll all be written a lot more fluently and cleanly.
Basically, if you want to read the new version, when it's finished,
I'll post a page to say it's done. So if you want to keep it in your
library, go ahead!
