Arisa pov:
Another sigh left my lips while I looked ahead annoyed during our walk through the desert back to Liore. The cape I wore fluttered with the wind and hid the sweat that dripped down the sides of my face. Leo was nestled up against the base of my neck as he had been on our way to the Ishval settlement, the heat too much for him to tolerate in human form.
"Why are you following me again?" I questioned Scar who was walking next to me silently. He was looking ahead, face as passive as always with slightly creased up eyebrows. He looked down at me through the hood of his cape and my brow twitched at the absolute no change in expression.
"Raff, I mean Keith, told me to go with you," he answered curtly before looking ahead again.
"Besides Keith being this annoyingly protective, I don't see how you coming with me will be of any use. I can beat you so easily even without alchemy." I muttered.
"I still have to find the alchemist responsible for killing my people." His words had my brow twitching more in irk.
"Hello?! Were you even listening to me back then?! It wasn't the fault of the alchemists at all! The massacre started because of the homunculi because they wanted to sacrifice human lives to create the Philosopher Stone. With you running around and killing more people and absorbing their souls into your arm, you're only helping them. Besides, the real person behind all this isn't actually the homunculi – it's a crazy old hag who wants eternal life," I lectured him. Leo squeaked from my neck and I lifted up my hand to touch his head gently with one finger.
"A woman?" Scar asked narrowing his eyes at me.
My expression was now that of a deadpan. "I believe I did mention her when speaking to Keith – Dante who knows of my ability to create the Philosopher Stone with the Red water threatened me that she would kill people I cared about if I didn't create it for her. And she even did."
Scar tensed at the venom in my voice. Ignoring it, I continued, "But, nonetheless, I refused to help her. I've had other thoughts on my mind. There's another thing that you should know – the Fuhrer and his secretary are homunculi themselves. Dante set up things perfectly – the whole military itself is her chess board, all the soldiers and State Alchemists are her pawns. If you want to kill someone for revenge, do her. You'll be helping the world in doing so."
"The Fuhrer and his secretary are homunculi?" Scar sounded shocked. "How can I find this Dante person?"
"I don't know – you'll have to figure that out yourself." With a shrug, I added, "I'm pretty sure she's not in Dublith anymore but you could get some clues on her if you go there. I, for one, have other things I need to figure out, though the problem of having to take care of you still remains."
"Taking care of me?"
"Yes, I was actually sent to your settlement to find you and kill you – you know, to stop you from going on your State Alchemist rampage again. But from your earlier reaction, I assume you've found a better target instead of measly State Alchemists, right?" I almost mocked, looking up at his narrowing gaze with a small smirk.
"What do you plan to do?" he asked after a moment of silence.
"Oh, don't you worry about it," I said, still smiling mischievously, "I have an excellent idea."
>>Time Skip
"There, all done!" I said, smiling at Leo's neatly combed hair.
"Leo love Ari sama!" he chimed, making me laugh softly as I patted his head.
"Are you ready for our new mission?" I asked and he nodded excitedly.
"Leo always be with Ari sama!"
