Chapter 2. The Man in Black

Your departure was brief; a parting glance with your brother and a weak cheek kiss from your mother. Then, you were off.

You sat in your uncle's ship and counted the dents in the floor. Your mind drifted to what you knew about the first order right now. Whispers between your uncle and his friends had told you that the previous base, Starkiller, had been destroyed. You had also heard rumors that escaped rebellion members had found the lost enemy, Luke Skywalker.
Your attention was immediately captured as your ship landed.

"Come," your uncle held out an arm and you took it. He looked at you with a stern gaze. "Be quiet, don't talk, and most importantly, stay with me." You departed the craft together and were greeted by a stiff looking man with a suspicious smile.

"Thelonius, you are early! Ah and this must be your beautiful niece, (Y/N)." Each word the man spoke had undertones of sarcasm, and the way he said your name was with complete disgust. "My name is General Hux. If you both follow me I will introduce you to your... fiance." He chuckled with a smirk. You followed quickly behind Hux and your uncle.
You all entered a large control room filled with stormtroopers guarding each exit. In the center was a man in all black robes and a black mask.

"(Y/N), this is Kylo Ren." Hux gestured to the man in black. He turned his masked face to you and you could feel his burning gaze.

"Hello." Kylo spoke, not moving

"Hello." You spoke and were immediately elbowed by your uncle. "..sir, Hello Sir" You quickly corrected yourself. Kylo turned away quickly and put both hands, palms down, on the large table.

"Hux, take her to my quarters and see to it that she has food." He spoke without looking up. You turned to look at your uncle who nodded and grabbed your hand.

"Good luck." He let go and left the room. You watched as the last bit of home walked away. Hux led you down several corridors and deposited you inside a small room.

"Don't leave, not that you could anyway." He smirked and left. 

You decided to analyze your new home. The main room had a rectangular white table with three chairs, a quaint kitchen, and a pantry. Through another door you found a bedroom with a very large black bed. A bathroom with a closet was next to the bed.

It's very clean, almost like he's never here.

You went into the bathroom and changed into a different set of robes from your bag. Outside the bathroom you heard a slam and footsteps. Quickly you exited and ran straight into Kylo. 

" What- oh, it is you." he stepped away and glanced you up and down. You suddenly felt very self conscious and covered your chest with your arms. Even behind the mask you could feel a heated stare and you knew he was intently looking at you. He suddenly became aware of the tension in the room and stormed past you to the bathroom.

Its a joy to meet you, too.

*Several hours later*

He was still in the damn bathroom. What could even take that long? You tapped a button near the bed and the lights in the bedroom dimmed slowly to complete darkness. You climbed into bed and covered yourself in the light covers. Once you made yourself comfortable you let sleep take over.

You woke up with a jolt to the sound of footsteps. You looked over to the bathroom and there was Kylo, sneaking into bed. He had no mask on but it was too dark to get a good look at his face. All you could make out was a pale face and dark hair. You watched silently as he climbed into bed as far away from you as possible. Sleep called your name a second time and you slowly let it take you, but you swore you heard a deep voice whisper "Good night."
