Chapter Fourteen

"Are you out of your mind" Saxon yelled at me in the elevator. I sighed, I guess I was. "Do you know what they are going to do to you? They are going to punish you Keegan." Sandor said.

I glared up at them, "They have already punished me by forcing me into these games, they won't do anything else but kill me in the arena. I'd be fine to die in the games if it means I will never seeing Alok again."

The elevator doors opened and the twins tossed me out. I toppled to floor and landed on my knees, "Thanks," I sarcastically said. I stood up and headed towards the food table, Dulbe and Hurgest sat chatting.

"Keegan, how did it go?" they both asked running over to my side. I shook my head, "Not so well." They both looked confused, "Why? What happened?" I walked away, I didn't answer their question, I didn't want to have to think about it.

I slammed the door shut behind me and flopped down onto my bed. I dozed off thinking about what Alok and I had been through all these years. Friends, best friends, a couple and now, nothing.

I never wanted to see his face again, not even in the games. I'm done allying with that jerk, I'll find someone else. I am sure someone will want me, they saw me tackle Adira. So at least they know I have strength to take someone down.

There was a faint knock on the door. I didn't move to open, I wasn't in the mood for talking. The door opened and Dulbe stepped in.

"Alok told me what happened, Keegan," she said. I smirked, he probably over exaggerated the story to make me seem like I was the bad guy. "And what did he say?" I asked.

"He said you tackled a girl and elbowed him in the face," she said. I began to laugh, "Did he forget to mention why I did that?" Dulbe shrugged, I guess he didn't tell her.

"We were together, a couple you may say. I was looking around when he began talking to another tribute, Adira. Then he went to kiss her. We were a couple and I wasn't letting that happen, so I tackled her. Alok tried to pry me off so I elbowed him in the nose," I said.

She looked surprised, "Oh, I'm sorry Keegan. Break ups are hard." I snickered to myself, "Yea they will be hard when I have to kill that idiot." Dulbe took a step back, she didn't know what I was capable of doing. "Get some rest," she said and exited the room.

A few minutes later, there was another knock on the door. This time I stood up from bed and headed to check who it was. The door opened up and a head poked through, Alok.

I looked at him in disgust and turned around to lie down. "What do you want?" I grumbled at him. He moved into my room, shutting the door behind him. "I came to talk this out, we need to talk," he said. I laughed, "No we don't, you need to fix yourself."

He looked at me shocked that I said that to him. "I don't need to do anything," he hissed. I turned to face him, "You need to decide who you're going to be with Alok!" I yelled at him.

"I don't want to decide though, I love both of you," he quietly said. I walked closer to him and leaned in, pretending to kiss him. I lifted my hand and slapped him straight across the face. "Life doesn't work like that Alok!" I screamed at him.

He touched his red cheek, "Keegan we have been friends forever, I don't want to ruin that. But you didn't want to date me, and now I found someone that does." I glared at him, "I didn't kiss you because I had just broken up. Do you not remember the kiss last night?"

Alok to a moment to think, "I'm sorry but the kiss didn't mean anything to me." I starred him astonished that it didn't mean anything to him. It meant everything to me, I thought after everything, he would be the one.

"Get out!" I screamed. He turned towards the door but looked back once more. "I'm allying with Adira, I'm sorry," he whispered. He stood in the door frame faced towards me.

I walked over to him to slam the door but decide to have some fun. He sadly stared at me, it was perfect he was distracted.

I kneed him right in the crotch. He groaned and fell to ground, rolling on the ground in pain. He moaned and was crying. "See you in the games jerk," I said and slammed the door in his face.
