Joyce and Sara were chatting on about something I was doing a good job at ignoring. Everyone else that was sitting at the table was out on the dance floor. I am not one for dancing if I don't have to. I watched the people on the floor dance around like they were one organism. Turning, dipping and sliding across the dance floor like they were all puppets controlled by the same strings. Shame was dancing with Morgana. Her small feet were standing on top of his so when he stepped she was carried with him.

-----A voice came from behind me and caught me off guard; a small yip came out of my mouth. I turned and met Luis's dark eyes. "My apologies, I didn't mean to startle you." He reached a hand in invitation out to me. "I would be honored if you would join me for a dance." Just great I thought, but I smiled and took his offered hand. It would be a great insult to deny the son a visiting master a dance.

-----I had to crane my neck to look into his face. Being only five feet tall, I was use to looking up to people. Luis is shorter than six feet, but he still had to place his hand higher up on my waist than normal to reach me comfortably. I rested my left hand on the side of his arm so I wouldn't have to stretch to reach his shoulder. My right hand was engulfed in his strong one, while he lead me gliding over the dance floor. The feeling of his hand high on my waist made things low in my body tight. I can't help it. I am a young girl trapped in the company of gorgeous men and none of them are aloud to touch me, so the smallest intimate touch is a lot.

-----The song ended and Luis released me. Tension I didn't even know I had released from my body. I decided I needed some fresh air and excused myself from the room. The large door to the banquet room opens up to a long hallway that is lined with the doors to where the vampires that live in the castle stay. At the end of the hallway is another large set of doors that open to Arden's chambers. The stairs leading out of the dungeon are to the right of the banquet room. The stairs are wide enough for several people to walk shoulder to shoulder and there is enough steps to make you feel like you had a work out by the time you reached the top.

-----It was a beautiful night outside, the moon looked like a sliver of glowing gold in the clear sky. The air was cool, but the breeze felt good blowing against my skin. Crickets chirped from the large garden surrounding me. I gazed over the flowers at the scattered trees that lay in the dark at the edge of the courtyard. Sometimes I think about running. Where to, I don't know. I don't even really know why I want to run. Life hasn't been that bad for me here. Belonging to the prince has seemed to take a lot of the heat out of Master Arden cruelty when it comes to me. I have Shame, Saber, and Sara, which are like family to me. Life could be a lot worst.

-----The sound of movement behind me brought me spinning around, while reaching my hand up for the knife in my hair. When I saw the figure standing behind me I stopped pulling the knife out, but left my hand resting on it. The male figure standing with in reaching distance of me was extraordinarily handsome, and compared to the men that I look at everyday that is saying a lot. He was only around 5'8'', but his muscular body gave the illusion that he was a larger man. I try not to meet the eyes of vampires I don't know, but I couldn't help but drown in his blue eyes that match the depths of the ocean. His sandy blonde hair is cut where it meets his strong jaw line. My eyes dropped down to his full, kissable lips, and then crept lower to take in the rest of his body. He was wearing a dark red cape that connected to a matching shirt by silver clips on the shoulders. The shirt was tucked into black pants, worn tight against his body and tucking into the black knee high leather boots he is wearing. When he talked his deep masculine voice gave me goose bumps. "It is a beautiful night," he said. I slowly lowered my hand from my hair, but I was weary. Besides Shame and Saber most men kept their distance from me, since I belong to the prince. Not to mention standing in front of me was a vampire I have never seen before. He most be here with one on the visiting masters.
