Lydia's POV

I hear a bit of shuffling coming from downstairs. I sit up in my bed and rub my eyes. My alarm clock reads nine-thirty and it's a Saturday. It is way too early for me to be up. Jesus.

Allison emerges from her bed too and we look at each other. She arches a brow, as if saying whats with all the commotion down there? I shrug and get out of bed. I slip my feet into my pink slippers and groggily walk downstairs. I hear Allison following me down.

I round the staircase and shuffle into the kitchen. Scott and Isaac are seated at the table, eating their breakfast. I ask them where's Melissa and they both point to the living room.

I grab an apple off the counter before entering the living room, which connects to the kitchen with an archway. Standing in the middle of the room is a boy. His back is facing me but I can tell that he's about my age. He's wearing a blue hoody and regular jeans.

"Lydia," Melissa says, "Is Allison up too?" I nod and only then does the boy face me.

I'm not going to lie. He's fairly attractive. His moles that sprinkle across his jaw make his caramel colored eyes pop. His brown hair is disheveled but he can totally work that hairdo.

"This is Stiles," She tells me, "He'll be staying with us for a while." I slowly nod and force my eyes away from him.

Allison walks in with a bowl of cereal in her hand and sits down on the couch. She shoos me away so she can see the TV. Allison looks at the boy one and says "Hi." He nods his head and slowly waves a hand.

Huh, not much of a talker, I note. Isaac and Scott file into the room. Scott sits down next to Allison.

"Welcome to the humble abode of misfit toys," Isaac mutters and claps Stiles on the back. Then he sits next to Scott.

"Can one of you guys show Stiles the spare room?" Melissa asks, looking between me and the three on the couch. They all sink farther into their seats, getting comfortable. I sigh and motion for him to follow me. I grab his small bag in the process and carry if up the stairs.

"I'm Lydia," I tell him and I see him nod. "I didn't talk when I first got here either. They all thought I was crazy. But I got use to them all after a while. You will too." He smiles softly and I open the door to the spare room.

I put his duffle bag on the chair next to the bed and place my hands on my hips. Melissa had a pink and peach comforter on the bed. I don't think he would really appreciate sleeping with girl blankets.

"I think a few of Scott's old blankets are in the closet," I tell him, "I'll go get them if you want." He nods.

I walk out of the room and down the hall until I reach the closet. I find blue bed sheets, blankets, and pillow cases in there. I pull them out and drag them back to the spare.

Stiles was already pulling the blankets and pillows off the bed and I help him. I catch him glancing at me every now and then but I don't mind it. He didn't call me out when I was looking at him.

After the bed is all blue, I leave him to unpack. I jog downstairs and find Melissa washing the dishes in the kitchen. She thanks me for helping Stiles and I nod.

"Did he talk to you?" She asks and I shake my head no. She nods.

"Give him time, Mel," I say, "That's all I needed." She smiles softly at me and nods. Melissa kisses my forehead and then yells at the two boys to pick up the Xbox games from the living room floor. Scott and Isaac grumble but I hear them get their asses off the couch.
