"Okay so we have Roscoe who's being territorial over you.." Greg began scratching his head after Anora and Charlie explained what had happened in the field earlier.

"I wouldn't say territorial. I'd say protective." Anora interjected.

"Alright, protective and Norberta is protective over you." he looked to Charlie.

"I'd say territorial." Charlie said.

Greg rubbed his face and stared at the two. "Well, this is a first for me guys, I've never had a dragon  actually like a human enough to be protective or territorial over them, let alone two."

"So, should we just wing it?" Anora asked.

Charlie looked down at her to see the amused smile on her face.

"I swear you did that on purpose." he said.

"What?" Anora responded with an innocent look. "I was only saying-"

"You know what you did. You and the dragon puns."

"Oh Charles, there's no need to get all fired up."

"There you did it again!"

Greg just watched the two go back and forth.

"Now, you're being ridiculous. Do you really want to drag-on with this?"

Charlie turned to Greg. "You're hearing this aren't you?"

"Don't try to tip the scales in your favor, Charlie." Anora grinned.

"Where do you come up with these?!" Charlie pulled at his hair.

"Alright, "Greg cleared his throat. "I'm just going to let you two handle...whatever this is." he said before leaving them outside.

Anora beamed at Charlie who continued to shake his head from side to side to rid his head of the terrible puns that seemed to be pouring from her mouth.

"You're horrible." he said laughing when she continued to smile at him.

"I think I'm pretty fangtastic."

"Oh come on!"

Anora and Charlie seemed to work well with the idea of keeping Norberta and Roscoe separate which the dragons agreed well upon. Roscoe enjoyed the extra time with Anora while Norberta liked having Charlie's undivided attention.

Charlie didn't understand the female dragon and her reasoning for taking to him, but he wasn't complaining either. Norberta's breed was known to be extra fierce, especially the females however, in his company she seemed a little more docile.

The majority of the time they spent in the company of each other, Charlie worked on just having Norberta tolerate his presence. Most times, she allowed him to touch her head and neck, although there were the days where she didn't allow him within several steps of her.

One particular morning, Anora and Roscoe were working on Roscoe's flight training which was often very noisy as Roscoe normally became far too excited leading to Anora yelling. Norberta appeared irritated by the noise as Charlie arrived to work with her.

"It's alright," he reassured her, "they won't be around us today. Just you and I. That sounds nice doesn't it?"

He had brought some meat as a peace offering slash bribe for the dragon in hopes they would form the bond that Anora and Roscoe shared.

"Dammit Roscoe." Anora held her jaw as the excited dragon accidentally knocked her in the mouth with his head.

She spit to the side revealing the blood that was collecting in her mouth.

"Damn near chipped my tooth there." she said.

Roscoe sniffed at the blood on the ground before turning to her, he lowered his tail and head offering his apology.

Anora couldn't help but chuckle at the dragon sometimes. At his size and strength, he was more than capable of killing her if he really wanted to. But instead he stood before her apologizing in his own way.

"Don't give me that look, you're making me feel bad. I'm fine, just don't tell Charlie and we'll be fine."

Charlie returned from a quiet day spent with Norberta, when he walked in he found Anora in the kitchen who was talking to Iggy. The cat was sitting on the counter eyeing the mug that Anora had foolishly left near him unguarded.

He quickly made his way over and picked it up before the cat could lift a paw.

Anora turned around hearing the noise and greeted them.

"Oh my...what happened to your face?" he asked.

"That's what every woman wants to hear." Anora mumbled.

"No I...I didn't mean it like that, but it's all swollen and bruised...did you fall during flight-"

"No." she said rubbing the side of her face. " Roscoe just got excited is all. Reared his head back and clocked me in the mouth."

Charlie frowned.

"Don't you go frowning. I'm fine."

"Tell that to the bruising on your jawline!"

She looked down to her socks trying to come up with something to say to try and change the subject.

When Anora didn't respond, Charlie took it as a sign to not bother discussing her injuries. Anora was too stubborn and independent in her ways to admit that she was in pain, she didn't like to appear weak for a second.

He walked over to her and stood only a few inches from her. Carefully, he placed his hand under her chin and directed her to look up at him.

"I'm sorry." he said. "I'm sure you're fine. But I worry... and I will always worry but it's only because I care. I hope you understand that."

She nodded. "I do...I'm trying to be more careful but that's easier said than done. Especially working with Roscoe."

"I know."

She flinched as his fingers grazed over the bruising.

"Oops. Here..."

Charlie placed several gentle kisses along her jawline causing Anora's legs to turn to pure jello.

"Feeling better?" he muttered against her skin.

She swallowed but failed to give an actual answer. Charlie let out throaty chuckle as he continued. She sighed in content wrapping her arms around his neck, and closed her eyes relaxing in his hold.

Charlie heard her muttered something into the crook of his neck.

"What was that?" he asked in amusement.

"I said you missed a spot."

"What? Where?" he questioned but he was only answered with a kiss on the lips.

When Anora pulled away, she began walking towards the back of the house.

"Where are you going?"

"Where do you think? I need a cold shower."
