I look in the mirror, wanting to throw up just looking at my reflection. I feel my phone vibrate in pocket so I pull it out. It's a text from Oli.
From Oli: Kells, where are you? The party started an hour ago. We had a deal
I sigh frustrated and send a reply.
To Oli: I don't know what to wear :(
I take my shirt off for the third time and put a different one on.
From Oli: Kells, your gay is showing
To Oli: Shut up
I settle for a red and black plaid flannelette.
From Oli: he's not going to care about what you wear. Just throw something on
I roll my eyes and put my phone down before throwing on a black pair of skinny jeans. I frown at my reflection and my phone vibrates again.
From Oli: He just asked me where you are. Hurry up, he's waiting for you.
To Oli: Ok I'm coming
I sigh and tame my hair before stuffing my phone in my pocket. I leave my room and jog downstairs.
"Mom I'm going out now." I announced when I see her lingering in the kitchen.
"Okay, Honey. Be careful. Don't drink too much and stay safe. I want you home before one." She says laying down the rules.
"Okay Mom. Bye, I love you." I smile.
"I love you too, bye." She says before I walk towards the front door.
I stop at the living room entrance where Dad is sitting in his usual seat.
"Bye Dad." I say hopefully but as usual I get no reply.
I sigh before walking to the front door and stepping out into the fresh night air.
I start making my way down the street towards Oli's house. We only live a block away from each other. As I get closer to his house, I can hear the music blasting. I honestly don't know how he throws all these parties without getting any noise complaints.
I get to his house and make my way up the front lawn. I pass people who are dancing drunkenly outside. I get to the front door and take a deep breath.
I've never really liked parties but if this means that Oli will stop trying to set me up with guys, then I'm happy. I open the door and enter the noisy environment.
I weave my way through the crowd of drunken teenagers and to the games room, where I know Oli would be. I spot him right away as I walk into the room. He's in the middle of a game of beer pong and he appears to be winning, as always. He throws a Ping-Pong ball and it lands in a cup across from him, making him win. The small crowd of people who were watching the game cheer. Oli spots me and pushes past the group of people.
"Hey Kells, you made it. 'Bout time." He says handing me a red cup of alcohol.
"Thanks." I say. "So where's Tay."
"Where do you think she is? With Alex obviously." Oli says rolling his eyes.
"Why aren't you with Hannah?" I ask confused.
"She's out of town, visiting family." He sighs.
I take a gulp of alcohol, letting the cold liquid burn my throat.
"You'd be the only person here whose parents know you're drinking alcohol. How do you do it?" Oli asks with a chuckle.
"You know my mom." I sigh.
He nods giving me a sorry look. He knows Mom babies me, he just doesn't know the full reason why. Mom will pretty much let me do anything to keep me happy and sometimes it's awesome but sometimes it's ridiculous. No parent should let their sixteen year old child go to parties and get drunk.
"Kellin, you made it." Says Vic as he walks over to us.
"Hey Vic." I smile.
"I think, I need to, do something, over there." Oli says awkwardly pointing to the door.
He grins cheekily and sends me a wink before walking off. I roll my eyes before turning back to Vic.
"You look really nice tonight." Vic compliments, looking me up and down.
"Thanks. You're not so bad yourself." I grin, looking at his black skinny jeans and his plain white t-shirt.
I stare at his toned arms a little too long and he clears his throat. I look back at his face and he's staring at me with an amused smile.
"Do you want to play a game of beer pong?" He asks.
I nod and we go over to the table where Oli just was. We set everything up before beginning the game.
Vic ends up winning because I suck at beer pong. He still had four cups left while I had chugged all of mine. I am now drunk. Really drunk. The world is spinning and I can't walk straight. I feel Vic grab my hand and he drags me over to the dancefloor.
"Dance with me Kellin." He demands and I giggle.
We dance for a bit before I decide I want some shots. I stumble my way out of the crowd and into the kitchen. I pick up the bottle of Vodka and look for a shot glass but I can't seem to find any through my drunken haze. I think 'fuck it' and just start drinking out of the bottle.
"Don't you think you've had enough?" Vic says appearing from nowhere and grabbing the bottle out of my hands.
"Viccy." I whine, pouting.
"Kelly." He mocks and I giggle.
"I'm not a girl." I snort.
"I know. I don't like girls." He grins.
"Me neither. They're yucky." I say disgusted.
Vic laughs and wraps his hands around my waist. He looks into my eyes and I bite my lip.
"I want to kiss you so bad right now." He sighs.
"Why don't you?" I ask looking down at his lips.
"Because you're drunk." He chuckles.
"So? You're drunk too." I point out.
He chuckles again and let's go of my waist.
"You're drunker." He grins.
"You're drunker-er." I giggle.
My stomach unexpectedly churns and I slap my hand over my mouth. I push Vic out of the way and rush to the kitchen sink. I lean my head over it and throw up all of the alcohol I drank. Vic tucks my hair behind my ear and rubs my back. I stop throwing up and close my eyes trying to catch my breath.
"Come on, Kells. Let's get you home."
