My darling Delilah,
So, you’ve broken up with your lovely fiancé River, have you? What a shame. I really thought your relationship was going to last, but then again I’m not very surprised that it ended. At least now I have you all to myself. How excited I am, Delilah. How excited I am… j
It’s What You Do to Me, Delilah
This was absolutely ridiculous.
It’d never end, I finally decided. It would just keep going on and on until I finally died a sad old woman, all alone with no one to love me…
Okay, I was overreacting, but could you blame me? After everything that had been happening, I think I kind of had the right to overreact.
I made a face, wanting to slam my locker door as hard as I possibly could. Now he was putting the letters in my locker? That was new. And even creepier.
“So, you go out with the Seth guy, but not me?” a new voice suddenly asked, causing me to jump and shove the note under a few books in my locker. “Why not me?”
“Seth’s a nice guy,” I informed him snottily, almost slamming my locker shut. “Unlike you.”
“It’s the truth.”
“I can be a nice guy, you know,” he smirked, crossing his arms over his chest as he leaned against the locker next to mine. “I’m not always this rich, talented, famous, and handsome. Hard to believe, I know.”
“Seth also doesn’t have a psycho for a sister,” I noted, ignoring his conceited comment.
Seth did have a sister though, and I wondered if he was trying to get into contact with. She hadn’t spoken to him since he was in middle school… I felt so bad for him. Even though I was in a fight with Jake, it’d break my heart if he didn’t want to speak to me. And now that I thought of it… Did he even want to talk to me anymore?
“Come on, Delilah,” Jay asked, stepping closer to me now. I took a step back, not wanting to be anywhere near him. “Why don’t we just have a little fling? If you like where it feels, and I’m sure you will, we’ll just keep going until we’re tired of each other.”
“I’m already tired of you,” I snapped, taking another step away from him.
Before I could say anything else to him, his lips were suddenly on mine. Letting out a squeak, I quickly pushed him away from me, wiping my lips with the back of my hands.
“You liked it.”
“I did not!”
“Wow, you’re just trying to hook up with everybody, aren’t you?”
The new voice caused me to jump high into the air, whipping around as quickly as I could. My eyes widened when I saw River, bruise and all.
“Well, I guess I’ll see you around then, Delilah,” Jay smirked, bumping my shoulder as he walked passed me. “See you in homeroom.”
My life was never going to be easy. I thought that after Mr. Higginson had been caught and put in jail, everything would be okay. But of course it wasn’t…
“Thanks for the bruise,” River thanked sarcastically when I turned back to my locker.
“You’re lucky all I did was throw a book at your face,” I snapped at River after school after he had come up to me at my locker. Slamming my locker shut, I turned away from him and started away. I didn’t want to talk to him when he was like this. I had to find a way to have him get his memory back.
