[28] Banished

“Are you alright Clary?” I heard Headmaster’s Marlow concerned voice ring through my ears as I sat in the chair in her office staring down at the cup in my hands filled with butterbeer, but I wasn’t in the mood to drink it. I looked up to meet Headmaster Marlow’s worried face, and I grimaced. Of course I wasn’t exactly alright, I had just found out that Professor Charles’ plans for this field trip was to none other than to get closer and to take advantage of me. It alarmed me that, that could have happened anytime when the lights went out, he could have found me and done so. Though apparently he did find me, only it wasn’t really me.

Teddy had told me – only after he woke up from the stunning spell I hit him with – that he morphed into me so he could see if he could lure Professor Charles into doing something to him or me. He had apparently told Uncle Harry where he would be and what he was planning to do, because when the explosion happened and filled the building with light, Uncle Harry was already there seeing the seen in front of him. I didn’t ask for details about what had happened, because mostly I didn’t want to know what Professor Charles was planning on doing to me. Though I could imagine it was something awful since I guess he received the broken nose from Teddy after the rouse was over.

“Headmaster, I think you know the answer to that.” I said looking up at her as she leaned back in her chair and sighed.

“Right, I don’t even know why I bothered. You’ve had a tough day haven’t you Clary? And I’m only making it worse, I’m sorry, but I have to do this.” Headmaster Marlow said as I shrugged, there wasn’t anything I could do about it. Uncle Harry, Kingsley, Scorpius, James, and McKenzie –Teddy was in the hospital wing due to the effects of the stunning spell, he was awake but not exactly in the best shape – they brought me straight up to the Headmaster. She had somehow already managed to know everything that happened. So I was sent to stay in her office while Professor was checked out in the hospital wing and then he would be brought up here by Uncle Harry while Kingsley went to the Ministry of Magic and told about the recent breakout, I’m sure the Daily Prophet is going to have a field trip about that tomorrow.

“I just can’t help but think this is somehow my fault…” I murmured to myself until I saw Headmaster Marlow look down at me.

“Why would you say that Clary?” Headmaster Marlow asked as I looked up at her and cursed myself for saying that statement out loud.

“I don’t know… I guess I’m just tired and want to go to bed.” I replied with a shrug as I tried to pull off the innocent I don’t know anything act. Of course I knew this was somehow my fault, with the breakout of the Dementors. He gave me a choice, of saving possibly the entire wizarding world from another Voldemort and from raging Dementors or in saving one of the closest people to me… Of course I was selfish and I went for Scorpius, though I would never tell him that or anyone else for that matter. I could have prevented this; I could have stopped him from letting them out. Now, I’m sure the Wizarding World was in frenzy over this matter, it was nineteen years ago all over again.

“I apologize for the waiting Clary, I didn’t want Professor Charles dripping blood all over the place with a broken nose. I’m sure Madam Poppy is almost finished with him.” Headmaster Marlow said as she looked down at me with those twinkling blue eyes just like her uncle. Just when I was about to answer a door opening interrupted me as I looked over and there stood the devil himself. “Ah, Professor Charles glad you could join us. How’s the nose?”
