Brienne's P.O.V.
My body aches all over, the pain pulsing through me. The pain so strong it feels like my whole body is punctured with shards of glass in my skin.
I've really done it this time.
I'm such a mess.
I was suppose to come here to meet my parents, but instead I'm in a fucking hospital room again. Why do I always do this to myself I'm just a foolish girl who runs from her own problems. Allowing myself to get blind drunk, hang around the wrong crowd and do stupid, stupid things. If I had never left and stayed in that bed with Jayden I wouldn't be here right now. I wouldn't have gone through what I went through and I probably wouldn't have lost Bex. So fucking stupid, i can't help but think over and over.
"Brienne?" A voice asks me timidly. Pulling me from my thoughts, I tilt my head to the side to see a nervous Leo, how typical.
"Hi" I croak out feeling the burn in my throat from the simple word.
"Hi" he says with his hands in his pockets looking at the floor. "fuck, what have I done" he whispers to himself, I keep my eyes focused on him.
What does he mean what have I done?
"Brienne don't be mad" He says quickly looking me in the eye. His eyes look away too quickly to catch anything but his body language says it all and it's making my stomach twist.
"Why?" I say too quickly choking on the word causing a fit of coughs to leave my mouth. My throat burns feeling like I've swallowed a bottle of hot sauce as my chest heaves up and down with the slight wheeze. He walks towards me and holds up a glass of water. I lift my head but it quickly falls back to the pillow.
"Don't push yourself, here" He says taking the glass, that now seems to have a straw in it, before he places it in line with my cracked lips. I sip slowly allowing the cool liquid to ooze down my throat soothing it immediately.
"Thanks" I say quietly giving him a small smile.
"Just don't be mad okay?" He says again trying to reassure me. This can't be good.
I hear a feminine gasp at the door followed by a small whimper before Leo moves to the side allowing me to see a lady who looks to be in her early 40s with her hand covering her mouth as she leans into a man who looks a lot like Julie. That's when it hits me, these are my parents. My real parents.
The lady looks up and I'm met with the same sapphire blue eyes as my own. She was beautiful all the way from her glossy brown curls to the small tattoo at her ankle. She walked in slowly towards me with light tears sliding down her cheeks.
"My baby girl. Look at you" She says in a shaky breath with watery eyes. The connection I felt towards her was strange yet satisfying. Behind her stood a man staring at me in shock with sad green eyes. The couple looked so fragile, so hurt, so torn.
I just stared at them quietly feeling my eyes well up.
"I know this is strange baby, but listen to me" she says more clearer recomposing herself. "I'm your mother, my name is Elliana" she says making me feel warm inside, before she gestures to the man. "and this is your father, Ivan" she says as I look to him he stares at me and I feel his pain, his eyes watery as he steps closer.
"Oh Brienne....my little girl, I remember when you were only this big" he says putting his hand to the length I was next to his leg. I smile lightly at him before looking down at my hands. I cant find the right words. So I look towards Leo and ask if Jay is here, he looks hesitant to reply but before he could Ivan spoke.
