Chapter 23

"The Best Way to Meet a Chat-Mate"

ANNA'S POV

"May araw karin, Zaila," Antoinette huffed and turned to me. "And you,"

EH? What did I do? o.O

And then she walked out. The girls gave out an audible growl before they followed.

Ohhkay. What a scene.

I could almost feel the headache coming.

"Are you okay?" The girl asked me after a span of second. "Did they hurt you?"

I simply shake my head in response but thought otherwise since my answer is not clear regarding her questions.

"I'm fine. No damage has been done,"

"Good to know that," She grinned. "Kung pwede lang manapak sa loob ng school, kanina pa nakatikim ng sapak yung mga iyon."

It confused me a little bit.

Why is she trying to help me?

Not that I complain or anything. I sort of wished that someone could help me out, right?

But then, it still confuses me.

I mean, she's a stranger.

I don't know her. She doesn't know me as well.

"Hayaan mo na mga iyon," She said after awhile. "Ganyan lang talaga mga fan-girls dito, nasisiraan ng bait kapag yung mga 'mahal' na nila nadadamay,"

So I've noticed.

But then I just nodded and took a glance on my watch. I still have time to spare.

"Hindi ka palasagot no?" She grinned. "Or you couldn't understand me?"

"Yes to the former. A little to the latter," I answered.

"Nice answer," She laughed. "Ay, sya nga pala. My name is Zaila Kate Bacolod. You can call me Zai nalang,"

It is the first time inside the school that someone didn't offer their hands as a greeting. I find it soothing...and a little weird since I was kind of used to people offering their hands to shake nowadays.

"A pleasure to meet you," I answered. "Morris Anna."

"The pleasure's mine," She grinned. And then laughed again. "We're a little formal, don't you think? Err... You don't have to introduce yourself since I already know you,"

Eh?

"Ikaw ang pinaka-unang estudyante na naka-kain ng Ambrosia di'ba?"

I nodded.

She laughed again. She loves laughing, I noted. "Akalain mong may makakakain ng Special Dish na iyon. Akala ko bored lang yun Tatay ko kaya ginawa niya yun,"
