Leo pov:

"Hey, you stupid creature! Get up, you ungrateful piece of garbage!" a voice bellowed and I whimpered, opening my eyes to see my master, Kii sama. I felt a sharp pain in my side at the contact of Kii sama's shoe with my exposed flesh. It was painful.

Kii sama was always so harsh but I didn't have anyone else. I didn't know who I was and I had only Kii sama. Kii sama called me stupid creature – was that my name? Yes, it must be my name.

Everyone I saw around me had a mother and father but I didn't. I didn't have a sister or brother either. I was alone. And everyone hated me. If they saw me, they were scared or angry and threw stones at me. But I never hurt them, I never bothered them. Why did they hate me?

They didn't have ears and a tail like me. Is that why they hates me? Because I was different?

But Kii sama was different from everyone who hated me! Kii sama was so kind to me. He gave me food as long as I brought back what he wanted from the shops. When everyone hurt me, he had given me food and water and a home. He had also given me a warm blanket to sleep under, a blanket with a hole that was big enough for my ears too! So I could sleep comfortably! He was so kind!

"You filth!" I flinched, my ears folding downwards in fear when he called to me again. I trembled, feeling so scared by the look in his eyes.

Kii sama was angry today. Had I made another mistake? Would he punish me with the iron stick again? No! I didn't like it! It always hurt so much! Kii sama said that it's because I needed to be taught a lesson, because I had made a mistake. But I was so scared and didn't want to feel the pain!

I could hear my heart beating so fast and my chest hurt so much. I whimpered when I saw him raise the stick with a big smile.

"I'm sorry, Kii sama! Please forgive stupid creature! Please, Kii sama!" I begged him, covering my head with my hands. I could hear him laughing though and I felt a sharp sting on my back. It hurt so much!

But then, it was silent.

"Leo!" I opened my eyes slightly, hearing a different voice. It was soft and filled with love. "Don't worry, Leo, I'll protect you."

Lifting my head I saw someone smiling at me, a warm smile that I had never seen anyone give me before. She was so pretty with long hair and warm eyes...

She held out her hand to me and I tilted my head curiously. "Ari sama?"

"I won't let anyone hurt you again. I promise, Leo."

"Ari sama...Ari sama! Ari sama!" I smiled wide, wishing to cry though. I was so scared but now Ari sama was so kind and so warm! She was even kinder than Kii sama...no, Kii sama was never kind but Ari sama was! And Ari sama called me Leo! I liked my new name! And I loved Ari sama!

"Ari sama!"

I opened my eyes, waking from my dream and seeing the soft bed in front of me. And I saw Ari sama. Ari sama was sleeping, her eyes closed and her arm around me. I had never slept on a bed until today and I had never felt kindness from anyone as Ari sama had showed me.

Tears welled in my eyes and I whimpered. Ari sama. I loved Ari sama! I wanted to be with Ari sama forever! Because Ari sama made me so happy and I wanted to make Ari sama happy too.

I tensed when Ari sama moved, almost waking up because of me. No, I shouldn't make any sound and wake up Ari sama from her sleep. I loved Ari sama and I would always do what made her happy. I was so lucky to meet Ari sama. She scolded the other bad humans when they had said something bad about me. Ari sama liked me too, right?
