"Oooh I don't know about this Charlie." Molly said as she followed her son beside her husband out into the freezing cold.

"Don't worry, Mum, nothing is going to happen. We're only taking you to see Roscoe. He's a nice sort."

"He's a dragon, Charlie." Arthur added.

"Yeah, but he's nicer than the others. You'll see."

"Did you really think it was a good idea to send Anora to get him herself?"

"Yes, Roscoe listens well to her...considering she gives him treats all the time." Charlie shook his head at the last part. "She spoils him."

"You make him sound like he's a dog!" Molly exclaimed.

"Well...he is similar to one, some days, he is like a big puppy. Who breathes fire...and bites on the occasion."

Molly looked about ready to faint again.

"Mum, seriously, it's going to be okay." Charlie reassured her. "Roscoe won't hurt any-"

"Agh, dammit Roscoe that hurt!" Anora's voice cried out.

Charlie let out a heavy sigh as his parents looked relatively panicked.

When they reached the clearing, Molly let out a whimpering sound as they saw the dragon with Anora pinned under him, steam pouring from his nostrils as it neared her face.

"Charlie do something!" Molly shook her son's arm.

"Mum, relax, this is how they play." Charlie said.

"What?! Charlie, that does not look like playing."

"I swear that's just how Anora and him play around, it helps him develop his-"

"It's going to eat her!" Molly wailed.

There was no way Charlie was going to be able to convince his mother that Anora wasn't in immediate danger with Anora's help. He placed his fingers to his lips and whistled out to her.

Anora and Roscoe looked over at them.

"Good morning." Anora waved from under the dragon. "Roscoe, get off you big lump."

The dragon took a step back, releasing her from the hold, but looked to the newcomers, lashing his tail from side to side. He opened his mouth and a small flame emitted until Anora smacked him on the rear.

"Cut that out, Roscoe." she scolded him. "Be nice."

Roscoe snapped his jaws at her but stopped when Anora challenged him with a glare.

"What are they doing?" Arthur whispered to Charlie.

"Um...Roscoe may or may not be challenging Anora's authority right now." Charlie scratched the back of his neck.

"Aren't you going to help her?" Molly said gripping her husband's arm.

"Anora will be furious if I do, it's interrupting their established-"

"He's going to eat her!" Molly screeched.

"No...look." Charlie pointed back out to show that Anora had asserted herself as the one in charge as Roscoe looked away from her gaze.

"That's what I thought." Anora huffed crossing her arms before looking to the three. "These young ones can be so sassy."

Suddenly, she was whipped in the back with Roscoe's tail.

"Ow...stop it!" she said rubbing her back side. "You guys are welcome to come over here and see him. He'll behave, won't you Roscoe?"

Roscoe flopped down and rolled on his side exposing his belly, letting a large amount of smoke to pour through his nose.

'I think we're good...we can see him from here." Arthur said.

"Oh he won't hurt you, he's just a big baby." Anora said placing her hand on Roscoe's side. The dragon moved quickly and grabbed her hand in his mouth.

Molly screamed in horror, but Anora remained still with a calm expression. Anora faced them and signaled them to calm down.

"It's alright, this is just something he does. He's not biting me, but he's certainly testing my patience."

Charlie walked over and ran his hand under Roscoe's head down his throat. The dragon opened up his mouth enough to let Anora pull her arm out.

Anora held her hand up and made a face as she faked two of her fingers missing. "My fingers!"

Molly was on the verge of fainting again, until Charlie shoved Anora making the girl laugh.

"I'm sorry, I was only kidding." she said revealing her fingers and wiggling them.

"You wicked child!" Molly clapped her hand to her chest. "I'll be sure to tell your mother not to fall for that."

"Mum isn't the one who would fall for it. Dad on the other hand...well he's a lot more gullible."

"Are you guys sure you don't want to come touch him?" Charlie offered them.

"No, we are perfectly fine just looking."

"Did you have to scare them like that?" Charlie looked at Anora as his parents returned back to the house to warm up. She glanced over at him with an innocent smile.

"You just want to see my mother pass out don't you?"

"No, but I like having my fun." she told him. "Come on, you know Roscoe wouldn't do anything like that-"

"Well, of course, I know that, but they don't."

"I'm just having a little fun Charlie, everyone seems to be walking on eggshells since yesterday. Everyone needs to lighten up a bit, and that includes you." she said poking him in the chest.

"I need to lighten up?"

"That's what I said. You've been so serious lately..and I'm not sure what's got you all upset but you should just be happy is still the holidays. Happiest time of the year...ring a bell?"

Charlie smiled. "Yeah it does. Sorry...I didn't realize I was being a downer."

She bumped him with her hip. "It's okay. I only say this because I like seeing you smile. It suits you."

"Does it?"

"Yes, that and the tattoos and piercings-"
