"...."
The captain was clearly troubled, at least to Armin it was clear as day. A hint of aggrovation that was uncommon from the captain could be detected from his rather brutal interigation. The young blonde boy among the others watched on in silence, unable to speak up. Jean was visibly shaken as well. Armin was still at a loss at having shot a person. Their new 'recruits' of Marlo and Hitch were also unsettled. Morale was not very high.
Eyes darted from listless gazes to looks of cornered animals on high alert as the man sputtered his insults from broken and bleeding teeth, threatening the life of Erwin Smith.
A broken hand later and they got the answer they were looking for. However, three people took notice of some odd information. Kenny Ackerman. Rivai took particular notice, Mikasa also taking note of it. The third was Armin, whom easily understood the connection from his captain's face.
"Someone's coming."
An unexpected warning came from a rather silly potato girl.

Now forced into hiding from the threat of prosecution, the special unit lead by Rivai now lies hidden deep in the mountains. Naturally, the place was to be spotless.
Mikasa and Connie were to move heavy things outside.
Sasha and Jean were in charge of the kitchen.
Armin and Rivai were clearing out the sleeping quarters.
".....You seem troubled, captain."
"Tch, do I now?"
"....Was it because of what I said before?"
"..."
Rivai had hesitated in his cleaning. They both were aware of what the blonde was speaking of.
"I'm sorry if I creeped you out."
"No, it's flattering."
The captain had smoothly gotten back into his cleaning, sweeping away the dust.
"You really don't have to be worried about it, I won't do anything about it."
Armin continued on, though a bit hesitantly. Any strain among troops was bound to cause trouble, but he felt the issue needed to be addressed.
"Why not?"
"I... Don't really know."
Armin's head swirled from one idea to the next, unsure as to why he would openly admit his feelings and yet reject himself in the same breath. He felt like it was what he had to do, but the reasoning seemed flimsy and vague.
"Armin."
A quiet voice broke the subtle tension, Mikasa having stepped into the room. She again addressed her childhood friend.
"It's time to eat."
"Tch, slacking off before any of the real work is done."
The captain gave a dissatisfied look before he shooed them away to eat.
