Astrid's POV
It was a Monday morning. I smiled as I woke up. Today was the day I got my weekly letter! I quickly got dressed and ran down the stairs.
As I opened the front door, I was prepared to see my weekly letter, but it wasn't there. I searched for it, but I didn't find it.
"Maybe it came a bit late?" I said to my self as I shrugged and went back inside.
I ate and then went upstairs. I pulled out a small box from under my bed. It was a small dark wodden box with beautiful carvings in gold. It was big enough to fit a letter inside.
I opened the box and smiled at all of the letters. I climbed up in my bed and read the first one, that I got five years ago.
Dear Astrid,
You are the first and last thing on my mind each and every day.
And every time I think about you, I smile, because you are so beautiful.
At the waterfall, behind a rock, a rock you sat on, you'll find another piece
I never actually understood that last part, but I kept all of the letters.
Suddenly, Simone knocked at the door. I ran downstairs and opened the door, and there stood my best friend, Ruffnut Thorston.
"Hi, Ruff!" I said to her as I gave her a hug.
"Hi, Astrid! Shall we read the newest letter?" Ruffnut said excited.
"I haven't got a letter today" I said to her.
"What!? You have been getting letters every week for 5 years! And suddenly today you don't get one? Now we HAVE to find out who has been sending you these letters!" Ruffnut said as we ran up the stairs to my room.
"Okay, let's start by searching through the letters!" Ruff said as she poured out all of the letters from the box on the floor.
