The battle raged.

In a flash of blinding scarlet and brown hues the battle had begun, werewolves using all their rage and compassion to fight for the many young lives they had lost.

Stanley ripped at the demon creatures, howling into the night. Pearl, still not a wolf, used her newfound strength to help her new friends, her friendship with Emily powered her on and she fought into the night.

Werewolves fell, the Elchs fled. The Cat Shifters proved their worth, using their unique ability to prowl the battle using senses like no other.

Claws ripped. Fangs lurched. Wolves howled and Pearl screamed.

But, when the first ray of sunlight hit the ocean, they were gone. In a flash.

Stanley, in wolf form, lay down and placed his head in his paws, his dark fur lined with blood.

Pearl had a nasty gash above her left eye, she came up to Stanley and sat next to him.

"We lost too many."

No. Said a voice in Stanleys head. I lost too many.

Pearl left him and ran into the tropical forest, away from the bodies of wolves and vampires, away from this macabre reality so different from the life she knew. the life she once was a part of.

"You survived."  Said a cold voice from the forest.

Pearl spun around, a growl erupted from her chest.

There stood a vampire, but she looked different. Not bloodthirsty or gruesome, she looked... beautiful.

"What do you want?" Pearl asked.

"I' m sorry for the pain you suffered, I meant not for this. But I must keep my promise. I promised General Jacob that I would spill blood for my fathers’ sake.

" Your father killed Emily." Pearl realised.

The lady nodded. " Yes, now I must fulfil my duty before the sun is over our heads.

She drew a wooden sword from her belt and looked at it, a single tear drifted down her cheek. "General Jacobs, I kept my promise, blood will be spilled."

She winked at Pearl.

"But he didn’t whose blood."

"NO!" Pearl screamed as she held the dagger over her heart, but nothing could stop Lavender from plunging it in.

The Vampire Princess was dead.

Pearl fell to her knees. For the last week she had been the wolves she had known vampires to be a vicious and bloodthirsty breed, she met one that wasn't who gave her life to keep a promise.

Now she lay on the ground, a smile on her perfect face.

"You' re the only one that didn't deserve to die." Pear whispered. Then she headed away, to the sea.

Her home.
