Party games are the reason for our primary development as modern humans. They are the new means of exploring and discovering your personality.

I was playing a party game with my best friends - Truth or Dare, the classic.

"Truth or dare?" Charlotte asked Jasper. Jasper thought for a second.

"Dare," he replied carefully. "But I'm not licking any more buckets!"

Charlotte nodded. "Okay. I dare you to do an Irish jig."

Jasper got up and did a little jig, which was surprisingly good and made us laugh. "Okay," he said as he sat back down. "Now it's my turn."

"Alright, go," Charlotte replied. Jasper thought for a second before getting an idea excitedly.

"Henry, I dare you to-"

"Hey, wait!" I interrupted, crossing my arms. "You didn't ask me if I wanted Truth or Dare."

Jasper groaned. "Please? This dare is really good, I promise."

I laughed with a shrug. "Sure, Jasp, why not?"

Jasper rubbed his hands together with a smile. "I dare you... to kiss Charlotte."

Charlotte, at this point, spit out a mouthful of the water she was drinking. I myself choked on my own spit.

"Jasper, we've talked about this! You can't see us k-" Charlotte started to repeat what she always did but Jasper cut her off.

"But it's a dare this time," Jasper protested. "Are you really that scared?"

I nervously met Charlotte's eyes and bit my lip. She glanced at me and sighed, throwing her hands in the air. "Hey, why not? It's just a kiss, right?"

I cleared my throat and nodded. "Uh, yeah, r-right."

Charlotte raised an eyebrow at me and shrugged. "Well, get over here and kiss me!"

I leaned over the circle we sat in and closed my eyes just as my lips touched hers. I felt my heart explode with a weird feeling I didn't expect - but it was a good one.

My hands instinctively flew to her face and she responded by tangling her fingers in my hair. We probably still would have been kissing if Jasper didn't start coughing a minute later.

When we finally opened our eyes, I glanced away quickly and sat back down in my spot. It was silent for a while, until Jasper said,

"So, you guys wanna see my new bucket?!"

The tension broke and we all started laughing. "Sure, thing buddy," I said. "Let's go check out that bucket of yours."
