Chapter 17

Beep Beep Beeeeep! I woke up and turned to Louis. He obviously hadn't heard his phone go off. I lifted it off the bedside table and checked who it was from. My heart nearly died when I saw who it was. Anna.

I can't open the text, can I? I mean that would be so rude! But I have a right to know if him and Anna are talking again, shouldn't I? I hit view message.

'Hey Louis, I'm in town at the moment and wondered if you wanted to get a coffee or somethin :) It wud be really nice to see you and I don't want our friendship to end just because of us :) Let me kno a place a time ;) xxxx'

I blinked away tears before turning to look at Louis. He was still fast alsleep. He dosen't know about Anna yet so I could delete the message.

 But that would be so mean, besides maybe Anna's nice! Yeah right, who am I kidding. Leave it Zoe, let him see the message.

I set the phone back and cuddled back into Louis. He wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me tight against him. I closed my eyes, trying to forget about the text message, hoping it was just a bad dream.

A few hours later, I was awoken by Louis lips kissing down my neck. "Ummmmm, morning baby," I murmur, smiling a sleepy smile. "Morning gorgeous." He replies, fiddling with a bit of my hair. I wrap my arms around his neck and kiss him gently before we both get up and head downstairs.

As I'm pouring milk into my cereal, I see Louis checking his phone with a puzzled look. I looked at him and he immediately looked up from his phone at me.

 "Zoe? Did you look through my texts?" He asks. I can hear the hurt in his voice.

"No I-I.... well your phone buzzed earlier when you were asleep so I looked at your phone and..... I looked at the message."

"Why?! Do you not trust me or something?!"

"I do, it's just she's your ex-girlfriend! You can't expect me to not be curious!"

"Yeah, okay. I understand that but, do you not realise that I'm in love with you?! I'm not interested in Anna, I wouldn't have replied to her text anyway!

 She's nothing to me! You're everything to me! But you know what, if you can't trust me, how the hell can we have a proper relationship?"

I look down at my feet, realising that he's right. But when I look back up again, he's gone and all I hear is the slam of the door.

Oh God, what have I done? Why didn't I just leave the text? I should never have read it.

I feel tears running down my face as I realise that this could be the end of Louis and I, all because of me. "Zoe love, are you alright?"

I wipe the tears away and look up to see Jay, wrapped in her dressing gown with Daisy on her hip. "Yeah, I'm fine. Louis and I just had a little argument but it'll be fine." I reply, sniffing a little.

"Awww, Zoe. You mean the world to him, he'll be back soon. Everything will be fine." She says, giving my hand a squeeze. I smile at her before heading back upstairs.

 I see my phone lying on the floor, so pick it up. Should I text Louis? No, I'll leave it. Let him cool off a bit.

Hours had past and there was still no sign of Louis. I decided to ring Molly, hoping he had crashed out at Dans'.

"Hello?"

"Hey Molly, it's Zoe. I was just wondering if you had seen Louis at all? It's just we had an argument and he kinda stormed off."

"Oh. Well. Um. How do I say this?" There was a long pause. "He went out with Dan and Anna a while ago."

I felt my heart break in two and a sudden pain shot through me. "Oh. Okay. Thanks." I hung up straight away, not being able to keep the tears back any longer. They all came flowing out, all the hurt I had felt was being released. How could he do that to me?

How could he go off with the one person that started this fight between us? Okay Zoe, look on the brightside. Dan's with them! Nothing can happen between them if he's wth them, right?

Yeah, it'll be fine. Louis will come home, we'll make up and then we'll go to bed and he'll tell me everything's going to be okay.

I lay my head down on the pillow and wiped my eyes dry. Before I knew it, my eyes were closing.

I woke up in darkness. I looked at the clock whih said 11:30pm. I felt the otherside of the bed, no one was there. Oh God.

No! Tears started to prick the back of my eyes but I stopped myself when I heard the front door open and close. I could hear footsteps coming upstairs, so I shut my eyes, making it look like I was sleeping.

I heard the bedroom door open and then the russle of clothes. Suddenly, bed covers came down. It was Louis getting into bed. I was expecting his arms to come wrapping around my waist, but instead there was the biggest space between us in bed.

My back was facing him, so he couldn't see my tears streaming down my face. I was losing him gradually and I don't want to.

I'm not the praying kind but right now, it seemed like the only thing I could do. Lord, please keep Louis and I together, please! I don't want this to end, I love him and seriously don't want to lose him.

Suddenly, I felt Louis shuffle uncomfortabley. Did he feel the same way? Obviously not if he went out with Anna. Oh God. Please don't let us break up!
