I was in a room. A large room, white brick walls and nothing else. I couldn't tell what day it was and I didn't even know where I was. There was something under my head that was soft, a pillow. I twisted my neck to stretch and felt it crack softly. A door closed, making me jump to life and sit up on the bed I was laying on.

There was whistling before a man in an all blue suit appeared. He had a set of keys attached to his side and quickly unlocked them to open the door.

"C'mom Ms. Fields, time to get you dressed. You have some visitors?"

"Where am I?" I whispered, my throat feeling dry and scruffy.

"St. Vincent's Asylum."

"Asylum? Why am I here?"

"That will all be explained to you briefly. For now, there is a bath waiting on you."

"No, this isn't right I need to talk to someone, anyone."

He looked at the floor before meeting my eyes, "there is an officer here that will explain everything momentarily. Please come with me, I would hate to have to use force with you."

I stood up, no fight left in me, and allowed the man to take my arm and lead me outside of the room. Once in the hallway, he sat me in a wheelchair, strapping both of my wrist down before moving it along the narrow stretch of hall.

My stomach was in a million different knots, I felt sick to my very core and I thought about spilling everything right there on the floor. I kept my composure, allowing the man to hand me off to another nurse that took me into a large bathroom. The walls were the same white brick, but there was a small mirror hidden behind several large metal bars.

I was able to glance at myself and didn't recognize the person staring back at me. My hair was tied up behind my head and an all white jumpsuit coveted my body. My skin looked dry, drier than normal and my lips were cracking. I looked at the nurse, moisture filling the rim of my eyes. She didn't respond, she just gave me a gentle push towards the tub and whispered for me to take my clothes off.

The bath was nice. I wasn't in there alone but the nurse gave me a the privilege of washing myself. She stood close by, making sure that I used the single bar of soap and small wash rag accordingly. When I had finished, I dried myself off and she quickly brought another jumpsuit for me to wear.

I was strapped into another wheelchair and rolled into a new room. This room was larger with grey walls and a grey cement floor. There was a metal table in the middle. On the opposite side of the table was a large man dressed well in a suit and tie. He didn't say anything as I entered the room and the nurse rolled me to the edge of the table and left.

"Please, you have the help me they're keeping me here and I'm not crazy. My name is Madison and for the last few months I was kidnapped and tortured."

"I want to believe this story you tell Madison, but it just doesn't add up. Now your nurse tells me that you don't remember anything so let me give you a run down. You go off radar for a little over a year and you come to the police station three and a half months ago covered in blood with a fully loaded pistol in your pocket. We take you to the hospital and you tell us that same story. Not long after, you black out and slip into a coma."

The words coming out of his mouth didn't feel really, they didn't feel truthfully. He straightened his jacket and his dark brown eyes met mine. He opened a file and slid over six pictures.

Daniel, William, Amanda, Craig, Zander, and Camden.

"Do you know who these people are?"

"Yes, that's William, he kidnapped me. He told me I had to be a nanny for his two kids, Amanda and Daniel and that's his other son Craig and then Zander saved me, but turned on me. Camden was my fiancé, but William killed him."

"Ms. Fields, Camden has been dead for over twenty years. Amanda, Daniel, and Craig were killed several months ago but bullets from the gun we found on you and William was stabbed to death over two hundred times."

"That's not possible, ask anyone. You can ask my mom and dad, anyone will tell you that I'm not crazy."

"Ms. Fields, I am asking you for the truth-"

"And I'm giving it to you! I really don't understand what's going on, but if this is some sick joke please stop."

"You said in your police report that Craig wrote something on your arm. A tattoo that said friend or foe. There is not tattoo on your arm. You attempted to give us the location of William's house and we searched the woods for hours finding nothing. Zander, his really name is Chris Sanchez and he lives in Puerto Rico. Your story is completely false, so why lie and go through such effort to protect your lie?"

"I'm not lying. Everything you're saying is false, it's not true and your lying. Your probably working with him and he's probably feeding you this bullshit, but it's not true and it's not fair."

"Listen to me, they are going to lock you in this place for the rest of your life unless you can prove to the courts that you are not some psychopath that went on a murder spree. I can get you easy jail time, take off a couple of charges, but I need to know you're not bat shit crazy first."

"I'm not!"

"Then explain this."

"I already have. I don't know what's going on but I feel sick and I'm tired and I'm here and I don't know why. But you can't keep me here, I know what they do to you in here. They keep you locked up until you really are crazy."

The man motioned with his fingers for a nurse to come over, "it's true, I tried to save her, but I can't. Run whatever test you need but I need to have diagnosis for her condition. Something to present to the court."

I screamed and cried and yelled and broke into pieces all at once. The nurse wheeled me down the hallway, her hand resting on my shoulder. I fought against the restraints and the male nurse from before ran up. He inserted a needle into me and much like when Craig gave me drugs, everything went black.
