You're a fraud and you know it
But it's too good to throw it all away
Anyone would do the same
You've got 'em going
And you're careful not to show it
Sometimes you even fool yourself a bit
It's like magic
But it's always been a smoke and mirrors game
Anyone would do the same

Chapter One- Who's Damien?
"Oh my god! Damien's back!" Some random girl said a little too loud to her friend.
I've been in school for thirty minutes and all I keep hearing about is this Damien kid. I wonder who he is. He has to be important if everyone keeps talking about him. I guess I'll find out.
"Get out of my way bitch!" Melonie pushed me. I looked up at her.
"Sorry." I mumbled. She smirked and raised her eyebrow.
"You better be sorry. You're a-"
"Mel! We gotta go." Her sidekick said. Melonie looked at her, then back to me.
"You're lucky I have to go. Bye slut." Melonie smiled, then walked away with her followers.
She cheats on her boyfriend everyday. I'm the slut? I rolled my eyes and walked to class. Just seven more periods and then I can go home.
"How was school, Ella?" Carter asked. I rolled my eyes and put my seat belt on.
"It was okay. Nothing really happened today." I said. He nodded and started driving home.
I couldn't tell him about Melonie and her crew hitting me. He would get all mad then tell Dad, then blah, blah, blah!
"Same here. Ryan says hi. He still has a crush on you, but I told him to back off. He's too old and you're not allowed to have a boyfriend." Carter smirked.
Too young my ass. Annabell got to have a boyfriend when she was my age. I shouldn't be mad because I have a boyfriend. His name is Brett and he's nineteen. He doesn't live over here though. If Carter knew that I had a boyfriend then he'd be dead. This is a small town. We moved when I was seven. I asked why we moved, but my parents wouldn't tell me. I asked Annabell and Carter, but they said they didn't know. Even though I was young I could tell they were lying. It seems like everyone knows except for me.
"Oh." I said. I looked out the window. There was teenagers everywhere. Too bad I didn't know any of them. Nobody likes me at my school. They think I'm a nerd. Well, I kind of am, but I have to be. I have to get good grades or else my parents will be disappointed.
They would be disappointed if they knew what you did 'Avalon'.
I rolled my eyes at that little voice in my head. Okay I smoke, I drink, I party, but most teens do. Carter drinks and goes to parties. Annabell too. Just because I'm younger doesn't mean anything! I'm still a teenager.
"Gabriella? What are you thinking about?" Carter asked. I looked at him and shook my head.
"W-what? Oh, nothing." I smiled, then turned back to the window.
"Hmm. I have to stop somewhere first, then I'll take you home." He said. I nodded and watched the group of kids laughing.
I wish I could have that. I would love to have friends. Go out on the weekends or just stay home and watch movies. I frowned, then closed my eyes.
"I'll be back, Ella." I opened my eyes and nodded. Carter closed the door and walked into a dark green house. I sat there, playing with my phone.
