*Perrie POV*

The walk to the park was peaceful, Ed Sheeran playing in my ears made the atmosphere better. I still stayed alerted with my surroundings, you'll never know whose lurking around the streets this late, ready to jump you. I decided not to get too far from the entrance, and chose to sit on a random bench near the pond.

My head bobbing to the music as I fiddle around with my pencil I brought with me. There was always something nice about coming here at night (It's like sitting by a fire place at a chilly night or watching your dog snooze beside you or watching snow fall out of the window), It's a kind of silent presence in the room with you that brings pleasant happiness.

I looked around the park for inspiration for the song I was writing, suddenly drawing attention to a boy sitting on another bench.

He had jet black wavy tall haircut with blonde highlights at the front, coal-black eyes that stared mindlessly at the pond. I can't help but notice how sharp and chiseled his jawline is, almost making him look like a perfect human sized barbie doll. The cigarette trapped between his mouth paired with a dark leather jacket made he look like a total badass. He's probably a typical down to earth person that is too cool to be my friend.

I observed his fabulous hair a little longer until he noticed me. Well shit! I was staring at him way too long. But instead of leaving like I assumed, he gave a friendly smile. I smiled back at him and started writing down lyrics that popped up in my head.

It's mid November, and the wind was starting to pick up. The thin layer of clothing I have on is not enough to support me in this cold weather.

I felt a tap on my shoulder, making me looked up from my notebook. "Hey," I was shock when I noticed that it was the boy I saw by the pond. "I don't want to bother you, but you looked cold, here." He handed me his leather jacket, and I thanked him, wrapping it around my body.

"How about you? Don't you feel cold?" I asked. "Nah, I'm good." I wonder if it's the tartan scarf or wool grey sweater that was keeping him warm.

"Would you mind if I sit with you for a while though?" To be frank, He is actually quite attractive(and he has this deep attractive husky voice that can make any girl weak in the knees). I told you that I have a thing for girls, but that doesn't mean I don't find him hot. "Of course, I'm starting to get lonely anyway."

He quickly sat on the free spot beside me and offered his hand out, "My name is Zayn by the way, Zayn Malik." I shook it politely, "I'm Perrie Edwards."

"So, what are you doing here late at night, Perrie?" He asked, inhaling another round of smoke. "I could't sleep. How about you?" I questioned while dumping my stuff back in my bag. "Couldn't sleep either, I had too much in my head, I just wanted to vent out."

"And your way of venting out is smoking?" I asked, pointing at the cancerous stick trapped between his fingers. "Yeah, it's brings a relaxation and calmness to my mind. How about you? Were you drawing?" I shook my head and showed him my notebook. "That's my best friend's job, I'm awful at arts, I swear a three year old is better than me."

"I can help you with that, I love doing something creative and artistic." He said enthusiastically. "And I do like song writing too. But I'm nothing compared to you, this is really good. I can already hear a tune playing with the lyrics. If you want, we can come up with something sometimes."

"That would be great, maybe I can finish this song sooner." We chatted for a while, and he ended up offering to walk me home, which I happily accepted.

That's how we found ourselves walking back home side by side right now. It turns out we only live two blocks from each other.

"This is my stop." I said when we arrived at my house. "Can I have your number before we part ways? I mean I would love to make that song with you." He questioned. "I am considering to give it to you, but I'm not sure if you're doing this to get in my pants."

"If you are, don't even bother." I scoffed, making him chuckle. "Don't worry, love. I bat for the other team." My eyes widen in surprise. He looked at my expression for a while and sighed, "I should've not said that."

"I totally get it if you don't want to stay in contact with me anymore." His eyes fell on the floor, making a wave of guilt shower over my brain. Seriously Perrie?! You just met him, don't screw this up. "What why? I'm totally cool with it. " I chuckled in pure embarrassment from my earlier reaction. "I didn't mean to get you miffed, I'm sorry." I gave him my phone, and he saved in his number.

"Here's your jacket." I was about to take it out, but he stopped me. "Keep it, I have too much leather jackets anyway." He laughed.

"Alright, thanks for the jacket, Zayn. Goodnight!" I yelled to the handsome man while running back to my window. Hoping that none of my neighbores saw us, and tell my mom about it. Imagine what her reaction will be when someone tells her that her daughter left the house very late at night and went back home with a boy.
I slowly and carefully climbed back to my bedroom window, making sure not to wake my sister. I untied my shoes and removed the new jacket I was given, before deciding to get a glass of water from the kitchen and maybe not sleep at all. I heard footsteps walking behind me, making me turn my back to see my sister, rubbing her eyes. "Why are you awake Caitlin?" I cursed at myself for probably waking my sister.

"Shouldn't I be asking you the same question? Why are you awake?" She asked with a weak sleepy voice.

"Couldn't sleep."

"Are you alright?"

"I'm fine, I'm sorry for waking you. But you have to go back to sleep, you have school tomorrow." I said. "Fine, but only if you try sleeping as well." She yawned, walking back to her room. My sister instincts kicked in, telling me to make sure if she'll actually go back to sleep. We sliently went back to her room, only light breathing escaping her nostrils could be heard.

"Night, sleep tight and don't let the bed bugs bite." I pecked her head and spreaded her blanket on top of her. "Night Pez." She slowly drifted back to sleep and I left her room.

I climbed on my bed, staring at the dim ceiling as my chest rise and fall. My eyes sore from the lack of sleep, but I couldn't, I can't go to sleep. It's a struggle I found of mine lately, a few after school started. I was always Insecure, but it somehow caught up into head now.

I picked up my bedding and went in my small walk in closet. I tossed the duvet on the floor and sat down on the ground, my back supporting my body from falling. My fingers quickly typing 'How to fall asleep easier' in the laptop, I slammed close my laptop upon seeing a bunch of bollock suggestions came up. I threw it out of the closet door without caring of the consequence from the impact, I shut the closet door with a bang and buried myself in my thick wool blanket.
