I finish packing the rest of my stuff before going to the kitchen to make myself some tea. I've had such a bad cold lateley and flying to America is just going to be worse. Whenever I ride on an air plane I always get a major head ache. I'm so not really looking towards the flight.
I finish making my tea and go to sit down on my couch. My throat burns and breathing out of my nose is impossible. It couldn't be any worse timing other than now too. My parents are big on appearance and I know when I show up all puffy and red they won't bother to hide their looks of disgust.
A knock comes from my door and I groan, annoyed that I have to get up. I don't really know if it is because I'm sick or because I have become really lazy lately, but I absolutely dread getting up and walking towards the door. I swing the door open carelessly and fast making Kayla, who was standing on the otherside, jump a little.
"Damn you okay?" She asks me. I just glare at her and walk away from the door. I hear her laugh and the door shut as she follows me. "Maybe you should go back to bed before your flight."
I stop and turn towards her with a confused expression on my face. "How do you know I have a flight?"
"Oh," she laughs awkwardly. "Zayn was telling us about it when he came over for-"
"Wait," I cut her off, my voice hoarse from my sore throat. "I thought Zayn had some business meeting in Paris?"
Kayla stares at me blankly and I already know what she is about to say is a lie. Whenever she gets caught lying or is put on the spot and about to lie she freezes and stares at you with her brown, doe like eyes.
But her lying isn't what is bothering me, it's Zayn's. The morning after Niall's party I woke up with a major hangover and a rushing Zayn. He said he forgot he had a business meeting in Paris and practically pushed me through the door to leave. Then for the last three days I haven't heard a single thing from him. I just thought he was busy with his work.
"Oh, uh, yeah," she nods. "It
was over skype," she nods even faster. "Liam, uh, thought it'd be nice to have dinner with Zayn, but like in different countries."
"Oh okay," I say, but it's clear that I don't believe her.
"I'm sorry," Kayla frowns.
"It's fine," I smile as much as I can.
It hurts that Zayn lied then ignored me and for a reason I'm clueless about. I shouldn't care as much as I do. I know how Zayn is.
"I think I'm going to take your advice and sleep," I tell Kayla.
"You sure you don't want to talk about it?" she asks me.
"Isn't anything to talk about, I really don't care," I lie. "My throat just really hurts and I feel exhausted."
"Okay," Kayla says but it's obvious that she isn't convinced. She hugs me before leaving and I do what I said I was going to do, sleep.
I wake up to someone banging on my door. My headache decided to get a head start and just moving makes it hurt worse. By the time I get to the door I feel like lying on the floor and sleeping. I wouldn't even care if I missed my flight as long as I felt better.
I open the door similar to how I opened it last time except the person doesn't flinch like Kayla did.
"Why the hell didn't you answer the door!?" Zayn screams. I flinch back a little and squint my eyes so much they're almost shut.
