I stare at the seventh script I have been sent this week. I cant keep reading scripts. All I have ever been doing is reading scripts. I need to take a break. I put my Ray-Bans on and walk out of my room.
"Honey, we need to talk to you about something." Granny says.
"I know Granny. Im still house hunting." I say, putting my hair in a ponytail.
"You used to love living alone baby, whats the problem?" She asks.
"I realize how important family is Granny. I was miserable without you guys. Look, please dont evict me okay?" I say, smiling. "I'll be back later." I say, kissing her on the cheek.
I drive out to a park and park my car at the entrance. My bodyguard gets out and leans on the car.
"I will watch the Jag. Dont go doing anything stupid." He says, folding his arms.
"Wow, actually I was planning on skinny dipping, but now you have thwarted me. Dang!" I say, sarcastically.
He chuckles. "Bye." He says, shooing me off.
"Bye yourself meat head." I joke, sticking my tongue out at him.
I walk through the park and find a nice spot of grass that I lay down in. I take off my sunglasses and look up at the sky, my hands behind my head. I love being out here. It just relaxes me so much. The clouds move slowly, the blue sky looks like something from a painting. The summer breeze feels like velvet on my face. I don't usually let my mind roam because I have a lot of things that I have to focus on, but i wonder how the Chamberlains are doing. I haven't seen Brooke in so long I miss her. I hope she is doing alright in school. I hope they don't think badly of me because of what I did to them. I rub my hair, taking any knots I may find while doing it, wondering if they would let me talk to them. I cover my face and turn on my side, enjoying the blanket of grass that is surrounding me. I hear my car horn and I sit up. Guess it's time to get back to work. I walk slowly back to the Jag and get in the car, shutting the door.
"Do you ever feel like you can't relax? I had to go to an empty park in the middle of nowhere just to relax." I say, laying my head back in the backseat.
"I'm a bodyguard. My job is the opposite of relaxing." He says, starting the car.
"Yeah but, do you feel like you can relax when you aren't protecting me?" I ask, looking at him through the rear view window.
"I'm always protecting you." He says, driving me to my grandparents house.
I lay back on the seat. "When you go home to your wife im sure you aren't gonna talk to her about protecting me. She will smack the shit out of you." I say, looking at the ceiling.
"You need to put your seatbelt on." He says, laughing.
"I'm serious. Am I the only one that never has a moment to just retreat into my own thoughts?" I ask, putting my hand over my head.
"I think you do too much retreating and you need to just live your life." He says, parking at my grandparents house.
I sigh and get out of the car. He locks the door and tosses me the keys.
"You can go home early. I can drive myself around." I say, going into my grandparents' house.
My phone rings and it's Ryan.
R: Are you on your way?
E: Shit, I forgot. Can I reschedule? I have somewhere to be.
R: You need to be here! This is your first autograph signing!
E: Uhh... Okay give me ten minutes.
