Final exams are killer, especially when you have a mysterious boyfriend and secretive best friends. Plus there was the fact that Lily still wasn't talking to me, no matter how hard I tried.

As I stared at the mostly blank parchment for our final essay in herbology, my mind kept wandering and I couldn't focus. I was probably going to fail it anyways... But it wasn't helping my concentration that the annoying Sirius was sitting next to me, using my lap as a footrest.

Sirius was also supposed to be working on his herbology essay too, seeing we were probably the only two people who hadn't finished it yet. But he found more interest in annoying me and distracting me by whistling quietly.

Suddenly, the tune he was softly whistling sounded vaguely familiar and I listened carefully. Sure enough, I recognized the notes as one of my favorite muggle songs. Nonchalantly, I joined in on his whistling by humming the same song until Sirius stopped, staring at me incredulously.

"You know muggle songs?" Sirius remarked, staring with bewilderment.

"I love muggle songs! Especially The Foundations." I agreed, humming a few more bars of 'Build Me Up Buttercup', probably too happy of a song for my depressed mood.

"AC/DC?" Sirius asked.

"Love them."

"The Temptations?"

"Older, but still love them."

"The Beatles."

"One of my personal favorites." I smirked.

"Merlin you're perfect!" Sirius gushed and leaned back into the couch with a sigh. "Wood doesn't realize what he has."

"Geez Pads, who would've thunk the biggest player and bad boy in Hogwarts has a thing for muggle music? What would Anna say?"

"You can't tell a soul!" Sirius groaned, shaking himself out of his happiness at how amazing I am. "This could ruin my image! But who cares what Anna thinks, I broke up with her."

"Oh, so who's it this week?"

Sirius opened his mouth to reply, but the portrait hole swung open to reveal a panting Remus and James followed by a waddling Peter. All of them looked like they just ran 10 miles.

"Vixen..." James gasped. "Lake... Robert... Now."

"Uh, okay?" I sighed, throwing my herbology essay on the table and fixing my hair to look presentable for Robert. James, Remus, and Peter, all still gasping for air, watched me sadly as I started out the door, like I was off to my own funeral.

"Wait! Vix!" Sirius called from his spot on the couch. "Can I borrow your herbology notes?"

Rolling my eyes and nodding my head, I waved him off and started down the corridors to the lake. I wondered what Robert had for me? A surprise date?

It was a beautiful day. The sun was about to set on the lovely May day and it seemed like everyone who didn't procrastinate on their exams wanted to be outside. Couples were spread across the lawn enjoying their last few weeks at Hogwarts together. I even saw the red headed Lily and dark haired Snape sitting at the edge of the lake talking, but I had no desire to talk to them.
