The Enchanted Forest Many Years Ago
Gracie and Belle say at a large table together with papers and books scattered everywhere. Belle was very dedicated to making sure Gracie was smart. She knew that magic couldn't get her everywhere in life, knowledge was the key.
For only being 9 years old Gracie was more advanced than the average adult. Belle was proud of how far they had come with her education. The little girl digested information faster than anyone Belle has every seen. Gracie could recite every spell she was taught, after only looking at them once. Belle knew Gracie was gifted with this ability to comprehend quickly the day the two girls met. Gracie had only been 4 when the lessons started, but she could already read better than most could.
Belle felt something was off though. Gracie wasn't paying attention to her work and she was off in her own world. Belle stared at the child for a minute trying to figure out what was wrong.
"Alright," Belle slammed one of her books shut, grabbing Gracie's attention, "what's bothering you?"
Gracie stayed silent as she stared at her teacher. She wasn't sure if she should ask the question that was nagging her.
"Who's my real parents?" Gracie blurted out.
Belle's head snapped up to look at Gracie, her eyes widened. She opened her mouth to speak, but nothing came out.
"No need for words, your actions have said enough," Gracie pushed her chair back.
She threw on her white cloak as she headed for the door.
"Wait, Gracie where are you going?" Belle called out as Gracie was about to walk out.
"To get some answers."
Gracie sat on a tree stump waiting for Rumple to appear. Her thoughts were overflowing with worry. Who were her parents? Why did Regina have her? Were her parents okay? Questions scrambled threw her brain, and they were driving her crazy.
"Gracie, we have to talk," Gracie nearly screamed when Rumple stood before her, he hadn't been there a second ago.
"I agree," Gracie stood up, "who are my parents?"
Rumple put his finger tips together, he was thinking about how to answer this question. Should he tell her, or do as the Evil Queen says and keep it a secret.
"Well, you see, I can't answer that question," Rumple said with his signature laugh.
Rumple almost jumped when he felt something cold appear in his hand. He looked down to see a sword, and one similar to it in Gracie's hand.
"Then I'll have to force it out of you," Gracie said.
She pointed her sword towards Rumple. He had no clue what to do. Battle a child or let her make a fool of him? He wished he could do neither.
"Gracie put down the sword."
Gracie did the opposite. She advanced forward on Rumple, her knife resting right beside his neck.
