(Slight time skip, for those of you that might get confused.)

Today would equal four days Kizumi had stayed home. I tore my eyes from his seat as I packed my English binder in my bag. I ended up finishing the board and presenting without him. If he wasn't coming to school though, that was my only option. I hoped the teacher would give him a chance to make that up somehow. Then, almost as if she could hear what I was thinking, the teacher called me over to her desk.

"I'm sorry you had to present without Kizumi today." She apologized. I smiled at her reassuringly.

"It's fine. I suppose I was already prepared for something like that before we even started the unit."  I gave a small laugh and then she nodded.

"Do you know where he's been? Is he sick or...?" She asked.

"I really don't know, honestly. He left after class on Monday and I haven't seen him since." I answered. technically he ran away... I thought subconsciously.

"Yes...Well, that's too bad. I was hoping you might know...it's alright though. Perhaps it was a family emergency. We'll have to wait and see, I suppose." She smiled at me and and I smiled back, then said goodbye. As I turned to leave, the teacher stopped me.

"Oh wait Shirou, you don't happen to live anywhere near Kizumi do you?" I shrugged my shoulders and said,

"I don't even know where he lives, so I'm not sure if I do or not." He could live close, and I would have never known...then again, I never did see him on my bus, so he probably wasn't in the neighborhood. Maybe he lived closer to the school and walked. She held out a piece of paper and I took it from her and read it. On it was an address that had a familiar street name. It was in my area.

"That's Kizumi's address." She told me.

"Oh, okay. Yeah...I live a few streets away from this." I replied. Still though, he was closer to the school, so he probably did walk. If I had known he lived somewhat nearby, though, we could have finished our project board earlier and freed up some time to do other work for other classes or something. She turned towards me and said,

"Would you mind taking Kizumi's homework to him for me?" She paused. "Of course, you don't have to. We could always wait for Kizumi to get it himself, but I figured he might want to try finishing some of it over the weekend. There's quite a bit there, including make up work from missing his own presentation."

"Oh, well sure." I smiled again. I was glad he still had a chance to make up some of the work at least. "I'll take it to him. It's only a few streets, after all." She handed me some papers in a cheap blue plastic folder.

"If he isn't there, then either hold onto it for him or put it in his mailbox or something, alright?" She said. I nodded and left the classroom.

Kizumi's house, huh? I had never been there before. What I couldn't help was the fact that I was excited to go. I would finally get to see him after what happened on Monday...if he answered the door at least. I'd been waiting for Kizumi to come back to school so I could talk to him, but every day I was disappointed when he wasn't there, so if he wasn't home when I brought his things, that would be pretty unfortunate as well.

I wanted to ask him questions. Even after four days, I wasn't exactly sure what those questions were. Maybe I needed to see what he had to say first, and then I'd know what I want to say to him. Of course, it could turn out that he'd simply take the work from me and then slam the door in my face. That was a likely possibility, being that it was Kizumi. I wouldn't be very surprised either, since it would be me of all people bringing him his work...

It's true that he was the one who got upset and ran, but if I hadn't grabbed his arm he wouldn't have done that. There was something besides that which was making Kizumi upset, though. He said it himself, even. Apparently I 'kept doing things' and that I didn't understand how it made him feel when I...when I what? I've never done anything differently to Kizumi than the day I met him...what could he possibly be talking about?

Everything was just so confusing.
