[Chapter 6] Trouble

"As long as you didn't mean to hurt her."

"I swear I didn't want to."

"I believe you. But, then explain why the toy you gave Roland burst into flames?"

"Like I said yesterday, it was an accident. I didn't want to hurt the kid. It's just Robin Hood made me very angry, and when I'm angry, you should probably stay away. When the bear burst into flames, it was just a reflex."

"What did Robin do to make you angry?"

"The way he reacted when Roland started to talk about me. He made it seem like I'm a bad person, especially with my magic. I just got very defensive. Though, the way Roland described me was hilarious."

"Yea. Roland told me you were a mysterious cloaked wizard."

She laughs, "I was only wearing this dress. He must've confused it with what he is use to back home, in the Enchanted Forest."

"Speaking of Enchanted Forest, you never told me who you were. And, I've searched through every page but I never seen you in the stories."

"... That's because I'm not from there. When the first curse was enacted, I was in the realm. But, I have no connection to the land. I was simply roaming around."

"Well, where are you from?"

"To the locals, it was known as the Forbidden Jungle. Both lands were separated by a large cliff, so it was impossible for anyone to pass through."

"Except you."

She smiles, "Yes, except for me."

"Well, tell me who you were back there? Who are you now? I want to know more about you besides your name," I ask.

"... I'll tell you about myself in this world later on, when I know you're ready. But, for now, let me tell you who I was back in the Enchanted Forest and the Forbidden Jungle." I lean in closer, making sure to grasp onto everything Melody has to tell me. I didn't want to miss a single bit of information. "It might be easier for you to know who I am if you look at a few other of the storybooks. I know that either the previous author, Isaac, or Merlin's Apprentice told my story in there."

"But, I looked through the book countless times and I couldn't find any trace of you." By now, I had the book in my arms. I open the book and briefly flip through all of the pages to prove my point.

"Henry, you and I both know this isn't the only storybook. I know that there are a number of blank books in the library; I've been there. In that little library, I know there's one with my story."

I close the book and look at her, "I guess I'll look for the book, but you have to tell me who you are."

She smiles, "In this world and in the Enchanted forest, I took on the name Melody, but in that other land, the Forbidden Jungle, I went on by a completely different name. They called me Tarza and I was raised by gorillas."

~Emma's POV~

"Regina," I yell out in order to get her attention. I knock on her door multiple times. After a moment of silence, the front door to her home abruptly opens.

"Swan, what are you doing here so early?" she questions, ticked off with my loud knocking. "It would've been better if you were across the street and using a bullhorn to get my attention."
