Chapter 39

Lucy's P.O.V.

As we prepared to leave with Floen and the others. I knew this was our next move. I didn't question how anymore, just why the knowledge came in pieces. Why couldn't I get a clear view of the whole picture? How were we supposed to fight this evil and win?

"Are you ok baby?' my father asked.

"Yes daddy I'm fine, just thinking about our next move."

"You think we shouldn't go? I know we can trust them

Sweetheart! Floen's king can be intimidating

Honorable."

"I know I felt it thru Floen's feelings. I'm sure this is

our next step. I just wish... oh never mind it's not

Important. But I need to ask a favor dad and it wont

be easy for you."

"Whatever you need Lucy. I would do anything for you."

"That's just it dad when the time is right I need you to

do nothing. I need you to step aside and allow me to

handle this. You can't shield or protect me."

I knew this would be next to impossible for him. I also knew this was one of the hardest things I would ever ask of him. I didn't know if he could do it, or if the little girl in me wanted him to. But it had to be this way. I had to make him understand.

"I can't promise that" he said with so much pain and

regret in his voice I knew he was thinking about

"It's not really a choice dad and it's a small sacrifice to

Save so many."

"Now you sound just like your mother. I won't let it

happen again. You can't sacrifice yourself the way she

did." He said it with such passion and a little

resentment. I had suspected he knew how momma

died now I was sure.

"Did you see it before or after she died?"

He had to get it out. He's kept it inside to long. He looked so tired. For the first time I regretted the power. And what me having it was doing to him.

He sighed "How do you know I saw it, never mind I

knew your powers would be something special."

"Did you know what she was going to do dad?"

"No! I saw it after. When she could no longer block

me because she was dead."
