The shadow of a figure loomed above me.
"You know who I am, don't you?" the sharp, piercing voice above me said. "You still have your debts to pay, Alexandria Black."
My feeling came to my head and I opened my eyes.
A tall and skinny girl with brunette hair was standing over me. She had a belt with three wands strapped to it, and her brown hair was tied back into a high pony. Her face was makeup-less, but her skin was as tan as a movie star's. Her high cheekbones and piercing gray eyes would scare anyone at the sight.
"How do you know my real name?" I hissed. She bent over and stared me straight in the eye.
"Oh, you should see your face. Your look is priceless," Ariel snickered with a delightful smirk.
Ariel was dressed for combat, like an army soldier. Her American accent was sharp, and hissing - but demanding and persuasive.
"What do you want?" I growled.
"What do you think I want? You made me a deal two years ago." Ariel's lips were slightly curved, like my attitude was amusing her.
Ariel's real name is Ariela, but I don't call her that because I'd rather not be whacked in the head. She was always a close 'family' friend. I asked her to do something for me two years ago, and I told her I would soon repay her.
But I never had spoke to her since seeing her this day. I hadn't just 'forgotten' about her, I had tried to forget about her.
Now she was here, wanting her payment.
"You told me you would give me the.. item if I helped you with your 'Potter Problem'" Ariel said, putting the finger quotes on 'Potter Problem'.
"Well you failed, so you didn't get your payment!" I said. "I wasn't going to give you it, anyways."
She snarled and unsheathed a blade.
"That's not a fair match, is it?" I taunted. "A paralysed girl against a knife and a warrior. I just feel so loved."
"Give me it, and I won't hurt you.." Ariel hissed.
"I don't have it. It's at home. And if you were to try and steal it, you wouldn't know the whereabouts. So kill me, and you wont have the item you want," my voice chimed.
"Clever kid, trying to save your neck, aren't you?" she growled.
"I'm just trying to make everyone happy, Ariel," I bragged.
"Stupid piece of filth," Ariel hissed. "You're oblivious to everything."
My body froze - and no, not just because I was in a body bind curse.
"What do you mean.." I whispered.
"Your own 'parents', the Malfoys, have been lying to you for years about yourself. You don't even know who your own damn parents are."
"Wanna bet?" I growled.
Ariel went on one knee and bent over my face. She lowered her body so that her face was inches away from my own.
"Who are your parents? Who are they, little girl?" She spat in my face and my curse broke. I lunged at her and she jumped up instinctively. I pulled my wand out of my robes, and pointed it straight at her face. She backed up into a wall.
"You filthy little half-blood!" she screeched.
Ariel tried to stab me with the knife she held in her hands, but I jumped out of the way, just in time. She was like a furious tiger, stealthy, quick, but ignorant and stupid. I could outsmart her in a second.
"You know who my parents are, don't you?!" I yelled at her.
"They're dead! Dead mudbloods!" Ariel shrieked.
Now it was my turn to be ignorant and stupid. I pinned her against the wall with my wand to her throat, and got real close to her face.
"I'll make you a deal." I hissed. She narrowed her eyes at me. "Tell me how my parents died, who they were, and why the hell they gave me to the Malfoy's, then you can have whatever you want that belongs to them."
