Melissa's POV:

I'm not sure what happened last night. First we were having dinner laughing our asses off, well them, not me, then Alex and I had sex but it felt more than sex, the way she looked at me before saying whatever it is she wanted to say, I think I know what she wanted to say, I guess I just don't want to believe it could happen, but still, it felt different this time, like she was making love to me. But then her phone rang and her whole demeanor changed, she tensed up threw the phone as far as she could and went to sleep in my bed, I didn't know what to do but then I heard her say "hold me" so I did.

That's why I'm a little confused because when I woke up this morning there was no trace of Alex being here, much less sleeping in my bed, with me. I have a really bad feeling about this, about the text message she got yesterday because it feels like that is the center of everything.

I was still lost in my thoughts when I heard. "Good morning." I looked up and saw the girl of my dreams, beautiful as ever, she was holding a cup of coffee and had a sad smile on her face, when I took every single detail in I saw that her eyes were puffy and she had bags under them, she seemed so tired.

I sat up in bed and greeted her. "Hey you, come here." She placed her coffee in my nightstand, took her shoes off, got under the covers and hid her face in the crook of my neck.

"I'm sorry I wasn't here when you woke up, I just had to go to my house and get something real quick." She said.

I kissed her head. "Don't worry, you're here now." A couple minutes passed and I thought Alex fell asleep until I heard her sigh.

She lifted her head from my neck and looked at me. "I have something I want to give you". She said and reached for something in her pocket.

It was a ring.

It looked like one of those rings you'd buy at a Chinese market. It was a little rusty but you could still see the beautiful shade of gold and the little details in red and green and some purple, it was beautiful.

I decided to tease Alex to lighten up the mood. "Are you going to propose? I mean I expected a little bit more since you're a princess and all." Alex smiled a little and gave me a kiss on the cheek.

She looked down at the ring and sighed. "When I was 7 my nanny told me a story of how her husband never proposed to her because he was scared. She told me that after years of waiting she went to a market in Paris called Porte de Vanves and bought a ring that she used to propose to his husband. Since we were in Paris I begged her to take me to the market but we couldn't because my mother wouldn't allow it." I listened to every single word as Alex fidgeted with her fingers and the ring. "One day, when she woke me up, she told me she had something she wanted to give me,"

"The ring." Alex looked up and smiled.

"Yes. She went to the market that morning and bought a beautiful ring. But when she gave it to me she made me promise that one day I had to give this ring to someone and whoever got it had to be special. I was only 7 but I understood." I nodded.

But I still wondered what she wanted to do with it so I asked. "Why did you bring it?" Alex took a deep breath and kept going.

"I want you to have it." A breath got caught in my throat and my eyes widened, am I really that special to her? Maybe that's what she wanted to tell me last night but decided to prove it instead. "I got a text last night. They know who I am. Everybody, I don't know how or when they just... know." My heart stooped beating for a second, or two, or permanently but it stopped. My mouth dried and I couldn't speak. "There's no escaping now Melissa, I'm sorry. I'll have to go to France.... Please don't cry." I didn't even notice the tear that escaped my watery eyes. Alex wiped it with her hand. "I want you to know that you're special. Wear this ring on your middle finger, please wait for me because one day I want you to wear it on your ring finger, I don't know when. I want to promise you that you're the only person I want in this world, just you, so take this ring if I'm the only person you want in this world too, if not, I will let you go." I didn't hesitate when I took the ring from her hand and put it where she instructed while Alex smiled. She caressed my cheek and gave me a kiss. "I will go, but that ring is a reminder that I will always come back to you Melissa... I don't want to scare you but I just need to get this off my chest, I don't want to be a coward anymore... I love you"

If I wasn't bawling before, I am now. I smiled while crying if that's even humanly possible and hugged her tight. We we let go of each other I kissed her and hard as I could. "Alex I love you too." I said while my lips were still pressed to hers and she smiled into the kiss. After hours of kissing and hugging my princess had to leave.

We were now standing in the doorway, I had my arms around her neck and she had hers around my waist. "I'm not going away just yet, but I'm not going to be able to come back here, as soon as the paparazzi spot me they not going to leave me alone." She explained.

"You still have tutoring with your favorite teacher though." That made her smile and kiss me.

"Bye Melissa."

"Bye Alex." She turned to leave but I spun her around by taking her hand and gave her a kiss. "I love you princess." I said.

"I love you too baby" She answered.

That day I went to bed thinking about Alex and everything that took place in just 3 months.
